Telephone call

Spider stared out his window at the darkened town, eyebrows climbing as the camera showed him a close-up of several figures in the streets. Pulling out his cell phone he dialed several numbers.

"Assistant? Interns? Someone see to the weapons locker. I want every student who knows how to carry a weapon armed."







((OOC: In other words, when the zombies become general knowledge, weapons will be available. Please don't break into the weapons locker... you'll have permission to go armed.))

Seimei gathered his charts, notes and scrolls, he headed down the darkened halls to Professor Jerusalem's apartment. He waited patiently to be recognized by his security system as Mitsumushi, flitted around behind him.

Phoebe's head was still threatening to kill her, but she had a job to do. She arrived at the weapons locker and waited for Krycek and Jake to get there. he three of them would start distributing weapons nd phoebe looked around for the loudspeaker to summon the students she knew could use weapons. She'd wait for the Boss' orders, then she was rallying the troops.

"Good evening, Abe no Seimei... and friend." The dulcet female voice sounded mildly disapproving. There was a brief pause. "Spider Jerusalem bids you welcome. Please enter."

Inside, wearing only his comfortable pants, Spider was watching the town, scowling.

"Professor, I would like to..." he stopped and his eyebrow rose when he saw the screens. "It appears I am too late."

Sonia enters the building at a run and spots future_visions.

"You're Phoebe, right? Professor Jerusalem's assistant? I vonder if you could help me..."

She gestures towards the weapons locker.

"It's a vhip. Leather, probably glowing."

"Too late for what?" Spider was scowling. "There hasn't been any bloodshed yet, although I was considering popcorn."

Phoebe nods. "Buffy told me about you. What's going on out there?" she is talking to Sonia as she was picking opening the lock. "You see it in there?"

Into the floor, Seimei started to unroll his scrolls. Taking his fan out, he gestured to several glyphs. "There is evil in the world tonight, Professor. A breakdown..." He tapped his chin with his fan.

Spider whirled, staring at the scrolls. "What sort of breakdown? Are the wards on the dorms going to hold against whatever this is?"

"I...I don't know. I vas leaving geoff_chaucer's shop, and then... *gesticulates wildly* ...zombies. Mr. Phale asked me to help anyvun to safety who might need it, and then, vell..."

She reached into the locker and grabbed the whip, which positively thrummed the moment she laid hands on it.

"Be very careful vhen you leave, if you decide to. They're everyvhere in the town."

Sonia gives Phoebe a strained smile before running back towards the entrance and out onto the grounds.

Shit...sorry. The Doctor just kinda busted open the door to the principal's office before I saw this post. He knows there's more traps in there, so he can hold off.

Phoebe called up her phone and quickly dialed a number. "Boss? I need into the loudspeaker system."

Seimei held up his fan to forestall any more questions. He stood and went to the window, the fan held to his lips as he whispered to himself. After a few moments he turned with a florish. "They will hold for the dorms but those outside are not within the safety of the wards."

Holding up a hand to politely request a moment, Spider took his cell phone and placed it on the table. "Patch to school loudspeaker," he addressed the empty air. After a moment, he pressed the speakerphone button and spoke to Phoebe. "Go ahead. Just hang up when you're done."

Beka has been feeling staticky all day. She's very relieved by this news.

"Professor, do you know if my sentient AI will be able to operate in this magic storm?"

Grimacing, Spider turned back to his view of the town. "Another angle. 30 degrees. Alternate."

As the view through the window abruptly changed, Spider folded his arms. "So what are my options?"

"Get as many people to safety as possible," Seimei said thoughtfully. He walked back to his scrolls and touched at several places.

"This is just a beginning, Spider."

"A beginning?" Spider's jaw tightened. "How bad is it going to get? Realistically?"
