Student Council Open Mike Night
[flyer posted on every possible bulletin board]
STUDENT COUNCIL OPEN MIKE NIGHT
Did the debates leave you hanging? Still don't know the candidates? Wish you were asking the questions?
Come see the real deal.
Candidates: Prove yourself by answering five key questions. Challenge your opponents! Show the students of Fandom High that you've got what it takes!
Students: Speak up! Say what's really on your mind. Force the candidates to prove that they're worthy of your vote!
Many candidates will enter: how many will leave?
***Free Food***
***Door Prizes***
***Games! (Buzzword Bingo: Mock them mercilessly if they use talking points!)***
All are invited!
Time: 8pm Fandom High Standard Time
Place: Logan Echolls' House
Be there or be uninformed!
***
OOC:
So here's how it will work. Sometime tonight Duce's player, who is a goddess for volunteering, will open a post. The post willsteal shamelessly emulate the fine example of the debates by opening separate comment threads for the various people who should show.
Unlike the debate, there will be only one structured part of the event. All of the candidates will be expected to answer five questions before they can do anything else. It's the same five questions, but the candidates won't know what they are until they get there. The point behind it is to have the candidates show they can think on their feet and, hopefully, provide off the cuff answers that aren't usual boring Student Council blather.
Once the five questions are answered then it's a free for all. Literally. So everybody's free to do their best - or worst, if that's their desire. Candidates and students can and should start talking to each other, poking holes in each other's arguments, trying to spin things in their favor - you name it. Heck there's even free food, though Logan's been advised to keep it away from the debate staging area on the odd chance people want to start throwing things ;)
The event will be slowtimed. Very seriously so because due to the last minute nature a few of the candidates can't show up until later, and yours truly won't be able to get there until very late tonight (and you know Angelus is going to want to give the whole thing his own personal touch).
So, like the debate, make friends with the refresh key. The event can go on as long as it needs to. Hopefully we can have some fun with it.
