South Attic Sunday Morning

Beka is lounging on her bed, fresh out of the showers after some solitary exercise. She's wearing workout shorts and tank-top because it gets warm in the attic.

Ostensibly she's working on her journalism article, but mostly she's musing on life at Fandom High. And trying to figure out a new schedule now that Daniel seems to have left, and without even saying goodbye.

She's trying not to think about John. Or to wonder what Angelus's editorial is going to say.

The door to Beka's room is open, and the door to South Attic is ajar. It's warded, but when left open, the wards won't affect anyone who doesn't require an invitation to enter.

::knocks on the door, before just walking in, since it was open. Cally is dressed in her usual all-black, but today is wearing shorts instead of her usual long pants::

There's a knock on the door, which pulls Beka from pleasant thoughts about kissing and Shep.

She sits up, stretching. "Hey, Cally. C'mon in. Door's open."

Beka grins. "Wake me? I've been up..." She counts back and loses track, since she sucks at math. "A while. Working on the relationship gossip column."

Her eyes roll melodramatically. "Someday I'm going to learn to say no. What're you up to?"

Nothin' quite yet. Gonna go down to the gym at some point. Gotta get back into shape if Anders and I are going to make out to build that Pyramid court.

At the mention of Anders, Beka arches an eyebrow. "Anders? What happened to Archie? And Xander? and me?"

She gestures at the chair, then pats the bed. "Sit somewhere?"

::sits down on the bed next to Beka, and shrugs::

What? Oh, Anders and I aren't... ::blush::

We're just gonna work together on a Pyramid Court for shop class, when we get signed up, that's all. And you're still my deepest, hardest crush ever, and you know that.

So cute when she blushes. "I'm glad he's paying attention to you now." Beka smirks, but not unkindly. "Probably had something to do with the orange dress."

You looked very beautiful at the dance. Happy is a good style for you. And you know I think the world of you.

That dress was great, wasn't it? ::smiles, crinkling her nose:: And wearing my Dad's jumpsuit yesterday surprised people too.

Oh, you didn't get to see it, did you? ::shrug:: Guess next time I'll have to run up here first thing to show off. ::grin::

"Yes. It was." Beka has the hardest time resisting kissing Cally's forehead when she crinkles her nose like that. "I didn't get to see the jumpsuit, no. Is it orange too?" She grins.

Though I wouldn't put too much stock in the idea that Anders is actually paying attention... ::she blushes again::

"Didn't guess. I was teasing." Beka sticks her tongue out. "Of course Anders is paying attention. Everyone was paying attention to you in that dress."

::shrug:: Well, yeah, and the tiara helped and all, but...

...well, I practically straddled Anders last night and all he could do was squeak. ::sighs and leans back to lie down on the bed::

Beka reaches over and takes Cally's hand. "Squeaking? Not so much a bad thing. It probably means you made him nervous. Also not a bad thing." Her voice gets mock-stern. "Now... just what were you doing straddling Anders?"

I wasn't actually straddling him. I only got so far as sitting in his lap. And I might have been playing with his hair. Nothing more than that, honest. ::smile::

Just... I guess I wanted to see how he'd react. And it just was too much fun, even if I did almost make him choke to death on his cookie.

"Sitting in his lap? Playing with his hair? Did he invite you to do that? I'd say that's a pretty good sign he's paying attention." Beka cranes her head to look back at Cally. "Next time be more careful if you're going to sex play with food." She smirks.

Beka laughs softly, and reaches back to brush the hair out of Cally's face. "You're too easy. You, OK? What happened to the lip?"

I bit through it after getting kicked in the face during the whole "Let's Make Janet's evil alien thing go away" thing on Thursday. Thankfully, the stitches are small enough I can cover them with makeup.

::sigh:: I just gotta be real careful what I do with my lips.

Beka blinks, taken aback. "Evil alien... Oh. Hell. No wonder." She remembers her study hall conversation with Sam. "Well, that explains a lot. Sorry I couldn't be there to keep the kicking and biting from happen." Her voice is soft, apologetic. "Politics."

To be honest, I think I'd take the evil alien over the politics. Atleast when it comes to evil aliens you know what side everyone's on. ::shrug::

I'm just staying out of the whole election thing... I'm gonna vote for the people I know, and that's it. Otherwise it all gets messy and mean and no fun for anyone.

"Most days I'd take an evil alien over politics too. Trust me." She grins. "So... how was Homecoming?"

::sighs, and kicks off her shoes before sliding even further onto the bed::

It... it was. Winning Queen was absolutely amazing. and Xander was nice, but kinda "Big Brother" nice... and then when he got all stuck in a conversation with Angelus, I kinda excused myself and left.

I kinda can't look at Angelus without thinking about certain things, you know?

Beka moves her laptop onto the floor and lies back on the bed, legs sort of awkwardly almost tangled with Cally's.

"You deserved to be Queen. It mattered to you and you were pretty enough. I've never met Xander. He's friends with Angelus?" Beka snickers.

::laugh:: Yeah, well, it's worse than that, actually. They're roomies. I just about died of embarassment when I found that out.

And thanks... about the whole pretty thing. You looked really amazing in that dress you had, too. ::smile::
