Dorm common room, Angelus and....?

Angelus found a quiet spot in one of the dorm common rooms. He sat sideways on one of the couches, his feet up on the pillows. He was busy with his sketchbook, but anyone coming near wouldn't get a chance to see what he was drawing due to him instinctively flipping the cover shut before anyone got close.

He wasn't giving out "don't bother me" vibes, but neither was he actively looking for company.




[ooc: Veronica Mars and Krycek both indicated that dumping psycho-lad in a common room could make for interesting conversations. So here he is. If any VM or K threads start up assume those are locked and, I'm presuming, that they showed up at different times. Otherwise feel free to come on in. I'm on and off all night.]

"Enjoying the election outcome?" Alanna was working on her stalking skills, so she decided to walk up from the back.

After the Yearbook meeting...

Veronica is on her way back to her room after the yearbook meeting and stops in the common room to see if she dropped her favorite pen there the other day.

She enters, glances at the boy drawing on the couch, and looks under the chair she had been sitting in the last time she had the pen.

"Am I in your way?" Angelus asked, not even looking up at her.

The notebook flipped closed - had that been a student he was drawing? - and Angelus looked over his shoulders at her with a grin. "Hey. Actually I'm sorry you didn't win. You had my vote."

"Uh, no," she says, digging some more.

"Ah - HA!" she stands with a triumphant grin, the green & pink striped pen in her hand.

"Good to - " Angelus glanced at her, then had a click of memory. "Veronica Mars?"

Veronica looks at him warily. She knows he looks familiar, but she can't quite place him.

"Depends on who's asking," she replies.

Cameron wanders into the common room, sucking on the pad of his thumb. He's been tinkering on Winona, but apparently the blaster is cranky at him as he managed to get the pad of his thumb stuck in between two pieces.

"Yo," he mutters before plopping down in an armchair.

"Sorry, you don't know me," Angelus made a face of apology. "Friend of Logan's. Name's Angelus."

"Nice seeing you again, Cam," Angelus said. He shifted angles to keep his drawing to himself, but not obviously so. "How's it going?"

Veronica raises an eyebrow.

"Well, if you're a friend of Logan's, I'm sure you and I are not destined to be friends," she says with a smirk, as she turns and starts to leave the room.

"You too," Cameron looked up and watched Angelus. "Pretty good if you're not a piece of ancient technology. You?"

"You were a friend of his at one point though, right?" Angelus gave her a look that was a mixture of hope and - was that worry? "Sorry, look. I'm not trying to pry or anything. I know he's got some history he doesn't like to talk about."

"I am very rarely a piece of ancient technology," Angelus flashed him a quick grin over the top of his notebook. He frowned when he noticed the thumb. "What happened?"

"Good for you," Cameron smirked back. "The piece of ancient technology happened. She's probably cranky because I called her ancient."

Veronica stops and turns around.

"Yeah, we used to be friends," she says in a flat voice. "Why do you care?"

That got Angelus to flip the book closed and pay full attention to him. "You have a bot?"

"Huh?" Cameron stares at Angelus. "No, an old republic blaster which doesn't work." He looks slightly embarassed as he realises that maybe he shouldn't personalise Winona so much in public.

"I'm... concerned, I guess you could say," Angelus turned around so that he was sitting properly on the couch, his notebook folded closed and lying across his lap. "Look, uh, no offense but were you a good friend? I'm a little skittish about maybe saying something I shouldn't and saying it to exactly the wrong person. That's the last thing he needs. Especially now."

Anakin, fully tired of writing his religion homework about being a "survivor", slouched into the room.

He perked up when he saw it was occupied. "Hey," he said, flopping onto another couch.

"You could say that," she says finally. "Um... we used to date."

"That like a pulse gun?" Angelus asked. He gave a friendly grin. "I'm trying to learn the lingo."

"Oh. Ouch. Uh - awkward, huh?" Angelus gave a sheepish look. He rubbed the back of his neck, then looked around, clearly trying to make sure nobody else was near and could hear them. Satisfied with the results, he leaned foward, lowering his voice for privacy. "I'm starting to get worried about him."
