Working out some issues [Gym, early afternoon]

Meditation was just not going to work today--there was too much tension in the air. After his conversation with Faith, Anakin headed back to his room to ditch the more cumbersome parts of his Jedi uniform and headed down to the gym.

There was a punching bag down there he could take some aggression out on without scaring too many people.

Although the look in his eyes wasn't putting him in the running for the cuddliest person on campus any time soon.

Faith headed down to the gym, looking for Anakin, as well as something to hit.

"Hey," she says as she enters the room.

Anakin turned from where he had been whacking the hell out of a nearby punching bag and wiped the sweat from his face.

"Hey," he replied. "Learn anything interesting? Or just more to make you want to hit stuff?"

Faith smirks. "Little of both. Apparently, Logan's pretty sure that Veronica Mars is the one who tipped off the sheriff. Of course," she says, rolling her eyes, "turns out that Miss Mars isn't always too accurate about who she accuses. Take, oh, the time she turned Logan in for a murder he didn't commit."

"I'm debating ways to inform the student body of this. So far? None of the plans to discredit her seem like they'd work."

Anakin scowled. "The blonde who came to our meeting? The one who was working on a series about how 'special powers' didn't necessarily equate to 'so, so evil?'" He punched the bag in front of him. "I liked her."

The bag swung away from him and he stopped its movement with a thought. "Yeah, something like that coming from any of us is going to look like retaliation or retribution for Angelus."

Faith nodded. "Yep. The one who, apparently, isn't all that pro-powers," she snarled.

"Oh, I know," Faith said with a scowl. "I can't actually do anything besides whine to other people who have the same idea, and that never accomplishes freaking anything."

Anakin leaned over to catch his breath and gestured at the punching bag if Faith wanted to take a few shots.

"Well, I guess we could set up a 'Free Angelus' bake sale, just to see the looks on their faces. Every cookie with a complimentary piece of paper laying out Veronica's tendency to jump to the wrong conclusion."

Anakin collapsed onto the floor mats. "Blast, but I'm useless today."

Faith attacked the punching bag eagerly, punctuating each phrase with a particularly hard hit. "We could set up a bake sale, and get Marty to tell everyone that the cookies are made of Kitty." She stopped at that and sighed. "Okay, that was a bit much. Not wrong, though."

She raised an eyebrow at Anakin. "Usless? Just over the whole friend-being-accused-of-murder, or is there more?"

Anakin raised an eyebrow at Faith's suggestion. "That might be a little bit much, yeah."

He still had too much energy to burn. After looking around the room, he spotted an equipment closet in the corner. The three foot stick he pulled from the back of it might not react at all like a lightsaber, but it was enough to let him work through some of the forms.

Setting the stick twirling, he continued speaking with Faith. "Mostly the Angelus thing, yeah. But anything that sends Padme home this quickly tends to not be a frivolous vote." He executed a quick back tuck, and punctuated the move with a few parries with the stick. "And non-frivolous votes usually lead to Jedi being sent to non-friendly places." He stopped for a moment. "And some of them don't come back."

Faith shrugged. "I'm not suggesting we get Marty to tell people that, but I'm sure he would, him being so much with the fair and balanced and all."

She attacked the bag some more, glaring at it as if it was to blame for just about everything. "That sucks. You think there's badness back home?"

Anakin snorted. "Maybe if you ask him nicely."

He watched Faith attacking the bag and let out a low whistle. "Nice technique," he said. He frowned. "Yeah, I think there's badness at home. There was this...tension...in the Temple this weekend. Nothing like here, of course, but Jedi tend to be a little more detached from their emotions. Anything that has them worried..." he trailed off. "Nothing I can do about it from here, anyway."

"Thanks. You're pretty good yourself."

Faith nodded. "Yeah, I guess. Best to focus on what you can change." She hits the bag harder. "Not that there's anything you can really change here, either. I hate not being able to fix things."

"Tell me about it," Anakin muttered, attacking his invisible foes with gusto. Without realizing he was doing it, he began making the whooshing sounds of the lightsaber. "I've never been big on contemplation and letting things unfold. I'd rather do something. But I also don't want to be that guy with special powers who freaked everyone out, you know? Bad enough that they've jumped to blame Angelus. There'd be a panic if someone else popped off and did something stupid."

Faith raised an eyebrow at the sound effects, but assumed that they were super-secret Jedi techniques, and disregarded them. "I think that anyone who's got powers and thinks Angelus is innocent is going to have a hell of a time. Times like this? I'm a little bit happy about the whole weapons ban thing."

Anakin nodded. "Not that they didn't hand out holy water and that guy on a stick before. I'm under the impression those wouldn't all that healthy for Angelus. Am I right?"

"That guy on a-" Faith shakes her head and giggles. "Yeah. Holy water, guys on sticks, pointy wooden objects- those are allowed. Cause the living don't mind them."

She snorts. "I'm hardly one to object, though. I've got some holy water in my room, and I had stakes before the whole ban started. But at least I've got the whole 'chosen one' excuse. Most of these kids are just being dumb about forces they hadn't even been aware of untill a few months ago."

"Being a Chosen One doesn't get you as far at this school as you'd think, does it?" Anakin said with a small smile.

"And I'm all for exploring different cultures and ways of life, but if you poke at something sharp with a stick and it bites back, it's a bit hypocritical to go crying about it. You poked it first, after all."

"Sadly, no. I'm pretty sure that something's weird here- there's too many prophecy fulfillers in one place. Maybe that's why there's so many gremlins."

Faith nods. "I'm pretty sure that some people are pretty much asking for trouble. I mean, I'm pretty damn sure Angelus didn't do it. But if they really think he did? They'd be foolish to let him know what they were thinking."

She shakes her head disgustedly. "Really, i thought people here were, well.... smart.

Anakin scrunched up his face. "That would definitely be an interesting explanation for them. Do we know what happens if a gremlin bites a Chosen One?" He laughed. "Maybe we'd fulfill someone else's prophecy."

He listened thoughtfully to Faith, then took up his stick and began another, slower, lightsaber exercise. "I don't think he did it either, ~~He's such a nice guy.~~, but given his reaction to the video of you and him from Zombie Weekend, you'd think they would've thought about the consequences of this accusation a little bit more." He took a deep breath. "He's not one for letting things go."

(ooc: But are they *chocolate* Kitties? *and omg dies so much at that snark*)

"That'd be a very, very interesting experiment. That I will now stop thinking about, before I get ideas for Buffy's Christmas present."

Faith watched him go through his exercise, impressed. "Yeah, well, the whole video thing was... filled with other issues. He was pissed that Marty'd do that, pissed that it happened, the whole thing was a mess." She paused for a moment, smirking a little. "Yeah, he's the type to hold a grudge."

(ooc: And you know you're high on cold medicine when your brain goes:
"She's not really dead! She's just.. chocolate covered!"
"ZOMG! WONKA DID IT! GET HIM!"
".. gives new meaning to 'Kit-Kat, the chocolate covered treat'.."

.. yes. I'm going to go add alcohol to my day and see just how much more insane I can make it. durp.)

Anakin shuddered slightly. "You don't have to tell me about Zombie weekend being a mess. Obi-Wan didn't stop lecturing me about it until after Parents' Weekend."

((*dies*. Oh man. I'm useless to anyone for the rest of the night. I have an overpowering urge to watch Willy Wonka. Curse you.))

Faith winces. "Owch. That yearbook food was the cause of pretty much everyone's worst weekend ever. I kinda enjoyed the zombie portion of the weekend, I'm not gonna lie."
