Rory was curled up on the couch, her legs tucked up beside her. She had just gotten back from Christmas shopping, and in front of her were an array of brightly-wrapped gifts.

She flipped through the channels on the TV, finally settling on A Christmas Story.

[ooc: Yes, she has presents. She has lots of presents. If I told you you're getting one from Ror? She has it with her right now unless it's one of the live ones, which are both in her room. Even if I didn't already tell you you're getting one, you might be. And in any case, she'll give you candy. So stop by! I is bored!]

Wandering in, holding a box after a string, Jake waved his cellphone at her. "Hey, coffeesister."

"Hola, dear Jakey!" Rory said cheerfully. "What is new and cool in the thrilling life that is yours?"

"You are scarily cheerful," Jake commented. He sat down next to her with the box in his lap. "I have turned in my interview and Spider is leaving."

"Cheer is not scary. And I turned in mine, too, and Professor J. leaving makes me kind of sad." She frowned. "Who did you do your thingy on?"

Angela plops herself on the floor near Rory's feet. "Hey," she says cheerily. "What happened after I left last night?"

It doesn't make me sad," Jake said and scowled. It really, really didn't. No. Not at all. "I did Callisto. She's pretty cool. She can firedance."

Rory blushed. "Um. Anakin showed Bridgey telekinetic stuff. And Anakin and I decided he's going to show me the flight simulator tomorrow," she said vaguely.

"She's very cool. She gave me a most awesome present after all the Angelus stuff," Rory grinned. "Speaking of presents...." She reached down and picked up two rather large boxes wrapped with baby blue paper off the floor. "For you."

Jake grinned back and held out the box. "We can exchange then."

"...you're blushing again," Angela points out. "But, cool, flight sim. That should rock."

Rory took the box and happily began to very, very carefully peel off the paper.

"I blush a lot. Fair skin, you know," Rory said, blushing a little more. "Um. I have a present for you!"

She dug around in the pile of gifts and pulled out a teeny-tiny box (http://pics.livejournal.com/rory__gilmore/pic/0000dyw3) wrapped in yellow paper and handed it to Angela.

"Yay, present," Angela says, letting the matter of Rory's blushes drop because, hey, new possibly-shiny thing.

She unwraps the iPod mini. "Oh, it's one of those music things you have, except smaller. And pink. That is so awesome -- thank you."

"Yeah - if you need help with like, uploading the songs and stuff, let me know," Rory grinned. "I figured you might find it useful."

"Oooh! Jammies!" Rory beamed. "And...hey! Not everything is about me. Just...most things."

Jake snickered. "U-huh." He got the paper off the second gift and blinked. "Wee tiny pillow and blankets?"

"For in case you decide to camp out in the journalism classroom again," Rory explained. "Or, you know, get shot in the head and are really tired. I figured you might be able to hide them in there somewhere, if you wanted, or something."

Jake grinned. "That's... Kind of sweet. In a very strange way. Thank you."

"You're totally welcome," Rory laughed. She lifted the cozy slippers out and slipped them onto her socked feet. "I like all the stuff you got me, too. I don't have enough clothes that say completely true things about the wearer."

"Very useful," Angela agrees. "And thanks for offering to help." She flashes a sheepish grin. "I kind of don't get how the song gets from the CD onto the iPod."

Jake looked pleased. "I think clothes should say things."

"You have to use a computer. It's not hard, though," Rory explained. "The music files are called mp3's, and you take them off the CD and put them onto the iPod. I'll show you how at some point."

"I've noticed," Rory remarked, thinking of what Jake had given her for her birthday. "In any case, I love them. Thanks, Jakey."

"Oh, okay. Yeah, that makes sense, kind of." She studies the insert that came with the package. "We can do it sometime this weekend, so I'll have it before I go home. I hope it works in 1995, the trip kind of fried Marty's cell phone."
