4th Floor Common Room Kitchen (1/13, Afternoon)

After a long lie-in and some time spent working on her Biology homework Mac leaves her room at about midday with a box of ingredients, attempting not to spill anything on the way. As she doesn't have any classes today, she's decided that confectionary production is the way to go. She's set up camp in the kitchen on the 4th floor and is making vegan oatmeal cookies.

After classes, Izzie takes to the halls of the dorms again doing what she has been doing most of the week, and just starts wandering. By the time she gets to the fourth floor, she's hoping for just a little human interaction.

Popping into the 4th floor common room, she sees a girl making cookies in the kitchen. Approaching her Izzie smiles and says, "Hi, I'm Izzie. Do you need any help?"

Turning from the counter in front she sends a grin at the other girl. "I'd certainly never turn down the offer." She puts the bowl down on the table wiping her hands off on a nearby cloth, "I'm Mac. You new here too?"

Izzie nods. "Yeah," she says. "I'm a freshman. I've only been here a week. What are you making?"

"Ooh, same here. Nice to meet someone else in my own year. I think only one of the other people I've talked to has been a freshman." Mac looks genuinely happy and starts pulling ingredients from her box as she speaks. "I'm making some vegan banana and oatmeal cookies. Bear in mind, I've not made these before, this might be a complete disaster. Are you good at cooking by any chance?"

Izzie smiles. "Oatmeal and banana? Are you serious? I love those!" Izzie exclaims. "I love to bake. It's probably the only thing I'm any good at. I've only made vegan cookies once though. My best friend back home was a vegan, and we made some vegan chocolate chip cookies right before I left to come here. They turned out okay."

Izzie is relieved she came in here. She hasn't met many people yet, and this girl seems nice.

"Ah, cookery expert, awesome." She grins, "I love them, but generally I eat the ones made by the bakery down the road. Its safer that way. I've never been big on making them myself, but when necessity calls." she nodded at the half full bowl. "They don't do vegan at this school, so I have to do it myself."

Izzie nods sympathetically. "I've been baking a lot this week already. That's what I do when I get lonely, or just bored," Izzie says. "Honestly throwing together a batch of cookies is nothing for me. I could make these for you once a week if you bought the supplies." She grins. "I'm not big on grocery shopping."


OOC: I have to go pick my little sister up from school in like fifteen minutes, but I'll be back in half an hour or so. Is slow-play okay with you for a bit?

"I have to have a recipe, otherwise I am totally done for. It would be a disaster." Pulling out a banana from her box she peels it and begins to slice. "I'm always happy to help with making these things, gives me something to keep me entertained, we should totally do this more often." She pauses with a grin, "plus, you get cookies at the end. Is that ever a bad thing?"

Izzie laughs. "I'm not sure how ending up with cookies could ever be a bad thing," she agrees. "So what do we need to do now?"

"Cookies, only bad sometimes round here, because I hear they attract the gremlins. I don't know about you, but I'm willing to take that risk."

Mac drops the now sliced banana into the bowl. "Well, if you could mix up the apple sauce, bananas and sugar that's in here, while I try to work out the oaty part, that would be great." She grins dipping her pinkie into the mixture for a taste. "Seems like a good start to me. Thanks so much for helping out."

Izzie sneaks a taste of the mixture. "Mmmm...that is good," she smiles.

She grins, tipping half the packet of wheat flour into the bowl before peering back down at the recipe. "Once I've added the baking powder, cinnamon aand a little salt." there is a pause in her speech as she sprikles in the last couple of ingredients. "I think all we have to do now, is mix these two together and make some fun shapes to bake them in. That's always the best part... other than getting to eat the end result I suppose."
