5th floor common room, before Period 1
Cameron stiffled a yawn as he poked the omelette with a fork. He already felt tired and he hadn't even had a class yet. He hoped Molly wouldn't take too long because the last time he poured water on a girl to wake her up, he nearly got killed. Not that he thought Molly could be compared to Aeryn. Then again, you never knew with the girls in this school.
Molly dragged herself to the common room, fully dressed and carrying her books for Math class. The full pout she was sporting was a good indication that she was not happy to be up this early. She sat down next to Cam and whined, "Why did I agree to this?" She put her head down on the table. "It's tooooo earrrrly."
Chuckling, Cameron put a plate down in front of Molly and paused only to ruffle her hair. Or more like her hat in this case. "You'll get used to it. Once you're awake, you'll get heaps of work done after class and then you've got the evenings free to do more fun things. What do you want to drink? Milk? Orange juice?"
Molly lifted her head and gave him a horrified look when Cam mentioned getting used to waking up early. She looked down at the plate and mumbled, "evenings free if I don't do my homework." Then she sighed and said, "Milk please."
"Don't make me have to check up on your homework," Cameron might have been joking. Maybe. He poured out two glasses of milk and sat back down, suppressing another yawn.
Molly pouted for a moment longer, then sighed. She sat up straight and began to eat her breakfast. "I actually found someone to help me with my homework if I need it," she said between bites. "Alex Krycek, you know him? I met him my first day here and later, when I mentioned being worried about not knowing enough to pass my classes, he offered to tutor me if I need it." She grinned at Cam, "I'm sure if the two of you gang up on me, you'll convince me to get it done."
"I've spoken to him maybe once," Cameron replied. "That's good, though. And if you need any help, just ask. Just not Maths, I might have to ask you to help me out there," he grinned at her.
Molly giggled at him. "We'll sink or swim together!"
"Sounds good to me," Cameron chuckled and rubbed his forehead tiredly. "Sinking, however, is not an option. We're gonna kick that class' ass big time."
Now that Molly had started to actually wake up, she noticed that Cam wasn't quite himself. "You don't seem as awake as usual. Did you not get enough sleep last night?"
"Uh," he quickly took another sip from his glass to look more awake. "I've been up for a while."
Molly looked at him like he was insane. "You? Are insane," she said before taking a drink from her own milk. "So, what other classes do you have?"
"So I've been told," Cameron laughed softly. "Medieval history, but you know that, Tactics of War, Self-Defense, Music 201 and Criminal Justice. You?"
Molly grinned at the reference to her mistaken attendance in the wrong history class. Then she frowned at the mention of the music class. "Ohhh, I wanted to take music, but it was a higher level course so I didn't. I hope he offers it again. Uhh, besides Math I have Creature Languages, Western Civ - the class I was supposed to be in last Tuesday - Paleontology, and Intro to Archaeology."
"I did Archaeology last semester," Cameron held a fist before his mouth as he couldn't keep from yawning this time. "I'm not sure if music is advanced, I think I've seen a few freshmen in the class. You could ask professor Ted if you want to make sure."
Molly perked up. "Really?" But then she thought about it and slumped down again. "Nah, I shouldn't try to add another class when I don't know if I'll make it through the ones I have. It sounds way more fun than Western Civ though." She sighed and finished up her omlette. Then she looked at Cam again. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"Overdoing it isn't a good idea," Cameron agreed and sighed as he rubbed his forehead tiredly. "No, but I'll be better when I get a full night's sleep." He gave her a wan smile and shrugged.
Molly watched him as she finished her milk, but she didn't know what she could do for him if he did have a problem, so she let it go. "Well," she said with a sigh, "I'm as ready for class as I'm going to be. Definietly awake." She added with a big smile. But then she narrowed her eyes just a bit and pointed a finger at him. "But, just so we're clear, I'm not agreeing that getting up early is a good thing." She tipped her chin up defiantly. "I could fall back to sleep any moment."
Cameron grinned and got up from his chair. "That's assuming I let you. Which I won't. I can get some gumballs from Anders if I have to so I can throw them at you in class if I see you nodding off. I'll make a morning person out of you," he said in mock-threat.
Molly stuck her tongue out at him as she stood up to help clean up their dishes.
