Wednesday Night, The Roof: Putting the EMO in demon

After classes were done, Bel retreated to the rooftop to brood. He was only barely holding himself together. The human was in despair while the demon screamed to claim and conquer. Kill Logan. Kill Veronica. Keep Phoebe by his side whether she wanted to be there or not. The human resisted with what little strenth it had. The human felt guilt over how he had treated Piper and Phoebe when he first met them. He'd been so proud of himself, bedding both the Halliwell sisters without them knowing. Then things had changed, but he couldn't undo the past. So what did he do now?

Pip stepped up onto the roof and lit a cigarette.

He had taken a nap and had another one of those nightmares again. He figured the night air would clear his head a little.

Then he noticed he wasn't alone. He nodded towards Bel. "Hey.... Belth, right?"

Bel lit up a cigarette of his own. "Just Bel works," he said absently. "You're Pip, right? Aren't you on my stupid beautification team?"

"Yep," Pip said. "I think it was for the stuff with the golf cart. What did you do to be the head of the band of misbegots?"

Bel managed a half-smile. "Angel thought it would be fun to volunteer me," he said.

"Oooh, that was during the whole body-swap thing. I think I accosted you on the stairs," Pip said, taking a drag. "So what are you doing up here, man? Typically unless I'm playing my gutiar up here, it's only the brooders that come up here."

"Yeah," Bel said wryly. "I was just trying to get to my room that morning without explaining what was going on, so I let people think I was him." He sucked in a lungful of smoke and let it out slowly. "Brooding. Yeah, that's why I'm up here I guess. Girlfriend and I broke up."

"That sucks, mon ami. Why did you break up? And do I know her?"

"Phoebe. Phoebe Halliwell," Bel said. "She, uh, found out I slept with her sister."

Pip's eye widened. "Yeah. That'll do it, I think. Girls frown on you sleeping with their relatives. I'm afraid I don't know the girl. The name "Halliwell" sound damn familair, though. Gonna try to get her back?"

"Don't know." He shrugged, taking another drag. "Might be better this way."

"Oh, and why is that?" Pip asked,flicking some ash of the edge of the roof.

Bel finished his cigarette, ground it out, and lit another with a small fireball he conjured. "Two different worlds, that kind of thing," he said. "Our families don't get along."

Pip raised an eyebrow. "Screw what your families think, what do you think of her? I mean, you two would be the most important part in this relationship." He breathed out a plume of smoke. "Hell, if I was going by what my reamining family wanted, my wife would be, ideallly, a woman who didn't eat alot, was quiet and got out of the way and could reproduce."

"I love her," Bel said simply. "But she doesn't want anything to do with me anymore. Plus it's not so much my family doesn't approve -- they'd want to kill her. So maybe it really is better she stays away from me."

[OOC: Sorry to vanish last night -- LJ started acting like a h0r to me and I couldn't access the page anymore.]

[ooc: NOOOOOOOoooooooooOOOOOOOOOO! He's evil, yo! And he tried to kill me... twice!! *g*]

"Awww. That's sweet. You love her so much you're going to completely stay away from her the rest of your natural life," Pip said, crushing his cigarette under his shoe.

He looked up at the falling snow. "If you love her so much that you'll stay away from her the rest of her life, why did you sleep with her sister?"

[ooc: i have *so* much to teach you, little brother... btw... how about if they start self defense lessons next week?]

"It was before we got together," Bel protested. "And once I was with Phoebe I ended it with Piper. I was a different person back then."

"Ahhh, that does change things. She's not angry at you because you cheated on her with your sister, she's angry at you because you had a previous relationship with your sister that you didn't tell her about." He started to button up his coat against the snow. "Just to check, this is Fandom, after all, when you say you were a different person back then, are you being metaphorical or literal?"

"Her sister," Bel corrected. "I don't have a sister. That I know of." The cold didn't seem to bother him; in fact, it almost seemed to melt before it even touched his skin. "And it's metaphorical, I guess. Phoebe changed me. She made me start to feel things I've never felt before."

"So, you love this girl. She's made you a different person who feels things you've never felt before. You obviously love her enough that you're willing to avoid her for the rest of her life to keep her safe. Very noble of you. Now, here's my question to you. How do you think she would feel if you avoided her for the rest of your lives? I mean, does she love you? 'Cause if she does, I think she'd object to your avoidance plan."

Pip pulled out a cigarette, stuck it in his mouth, and tried to light it. The snow, however, kept messing up his lighter.
