Revenge Is a Dish Best Served Cold

High on a convenient hill a distinctive figure can be seen gesticulating and giving out orders. He moved about with confidence and purpose not normally seen in a man made out of three large snowballs and wearing a silk top hat. It was almost as if he was being driven by something. Something like revenge.

Throwing a grenade at a group of charging snow monsters, Tex watched with satisfaction as they blew up. Out of the corner of her eye, she suddenly noticed the movement. She turned her head and narrowed her eyes, those were definitely military orders as any respectable spartan would have recognised miles away. Something was leading these things. She looked around her, watching the snow reforming again. They could keep this game up the entire night if they wanted. If this thing had a leader, they needed to destroy it. Without a second thought, Tex set off towards the figure, slicing her way through snow monsters along the way.

Seeing the armoured figure running toward his command position, Frigid - because that was his name: Frigid, brother of the murdered Evil Frosty - yelled out more orders. Snow beasts of varying types converged on Tex as she got nearer. Those that weren't sliced down, turned to chase behind her. After another yelled order, a large tentacled snow monster began lobbing large chunks of ice and snow at Tex.

Tex ducked and rolled on, ducking some of the ice and snow. The rest hit her armour, the ice making large impacts that made her shielding shimmer but it didn't stop her. She landed on her feet, turned around and pulled out her one remaining M6D, firing at the monsters chasing her.

Most of the bullets had little effect on the snowmen; passing right through or only taking out little chunks of snow. One bullet, however, must have hit just the right way because the head of one snowman exploded and the rest of it slumped to the ground. The order from on top of the hill was repeated and another tentacled snow monster moved up and began firing at Tex.

She was waisting her time. Tex growled and stumbled back at the impact. She drew out her energy sword once more, ignited it and continued to run up the hill, ignoring the tentacled snow monster and its icy ammo.

Frigid snarled as Tex powered through his forces. He yelled out another order and three abominable snowmen appeared on the ridge behind him. With a coordinated growl, they ran down the hill toward Tex. As they got closer, they split up to try and encircle her.

Letting the two going to her sides go for now, Tex kept running. She sliced at it's stomach as she barreled right into the 8ft snowman. With another mighty slash, she cut off its head, but was sent flying to the ground as the other two snowmen charged at her. Rolling back to her feet, she moved to face them.

The two other abominable snowmen stayed back out of her weapon's range, circling her to try to keep one of them behind her at all times.

Tex tilted her head and smirked as the snowmen kept back. "Scared?" She grinned and lunged forward, sending the two energy spikes into the snowmen's chest. The other pounced her from behind and they all crashed down to the snowy ground. Using the opportunity, Tex put her full weight on the sword, sending it deeper into its chest until she was sure it was dead. The snowmen lying on top of her was clawing at her armour and the shielding shimmered in protest. She pushed off hard from the ground and rolled around, using her elbow to push the snowmen back and cut off its head as well. A second later she was running up the hill again, a bit more bruised than before but not about to give up.

Frigid yelled in anger. He wanted his revenge and this... person was thwarting him. Enraged, he sped down the hill toward Tex, brandishing a broom in his right mitten.

Snow shouldn't be able to move so fast, Tex barely managed to jump aside to avoid Frigid running into her. She made a might swipe with her sword and cut the broom in half.

Frigid slid to a stop at the bottom of the hill. He examined the remains of his broom and seethed. If he were anything other than a snowman, he would be steaming mad. But, he was a snowman so, not so much with the steaming. Just the mad. He threw down the broken broom and turned back to face Tex.

Having had more than enough with this, Tex drew out her handgun. Just as she was about to shoot, the tentacled snow monster threw another volley of ice and snow at her. Tex fired but was knocked sideways at the same time and she watched how the bullet uselessly shot off Frigid's hat. She swore as she wanted to shoot again only to realise her clip was empty.

A look of horror passed over Frigid's face and he cried out in a way that was probably edging on copy write infringement as the hat flew off his head. And then, he collapsed into a pile of snow with a few odds and ends scattered in the pile.

All over the hillside, the other snow creatures began collapsing as well with varying cries of denial and terror. Until, finally, Tex was alone on the hill side surrounded only by the much disturbed snow.
