Gym, before classes

Cameron headed down to the gym. While his shoulder still felt stiff, it didn't feel bad enough anymore to take the painmeds. Encouraged, Cameron said down on one of the machines and tentatively took up one of the hand weights to strength his arm and shoulder again.

John comes into the gym because hey, scene of the proverbial crime. Not that he was mad but it would be interesting to see what Cam had to say.

"Hey buddy," he says, leaning against one of the machines. "How's the arm?"

Weak is his first thought. "Slowly getting better, but not quite there yet." Cameron looks up, gratefully pausing his exercises for a moment. "How's it going?"

"I'm okay," John says, smiling. "Not nearly as bad off as your arm seems to be. Don't overdo it now."

"Trying not to," Cameron looks up at John and frowns. "Not nearly as bad isn't all too great, though. What's up?"

"What?" John smiles slightly. "I can't come to the gym just to hang out?"

"You can," Cameron chuckles and goes back to the weight lifting. "It's just not the most... hanging out place in the school if you're not set on working out."

"Hmm." John watches him for a while longer before asking, "how's Aeryn?"

That stops him dead and he looks up at John, not understanding. "What? Are you two fighting again?"

"No, no," John says, shaking his head. "But I heard you were interested in her leather pants..."

Cameron blinks. "No..." He's got the impression he's missing something. "What are you on about?"

John just decides to come out with it.

"Threesomes?"

"Oh, that." Cameron ducks his head. "Dude, we were just fooling around." Shit, bad choice of words. He groans and looks up at John. "Look, she was trying to embarrass me and I pushed back and that's that. I'm not... I'm not interested in Aeryn like that."

John smiles again.

"I know," he says, laughing. "Aeryn told me. I just wanted to make you squirm."

Cameron rolls his eyes. "What? Is making me squirm a hobby of you two?" He shakes his head.

"Well, you guys do spend all this time sparring together," John says, still smiling. "I always wondered about that, actually."

Cameron's a bit confused as the smile and the question seem at odds unless he's overthinking here. "Well sparring together is mostly spend... sparring. Not that that's going to happen any time soon."

"Yo!" Cameron greets from where he's still working on the weights.

"Hi honey," John says and waves from where he's talking to Cameron. "Come back for interesting conversation?"

To prove that he has no problems with this and to drive Cameron insane, John steps closer and says, "Yeah, but it's kinda hot right? All sweaty and aggressive?"

"Definitely not," she answers with a little smile, pulling on her gloves and heading for the punching bag.

"Is your back up to that yet?" John asks, frowning.

Cameron swallows and is definitely not looking at John. "It's sparring. You kidna don't think about it like that when she's kicking your ass."
