4th Floor Common Room - Friday Night

Allie decided to try to be social and she took a ream of paper, some instructions she'd printed from the internet and a bottle of diet coke to the common room.

Should anyone happen past, they may hear the mild mannered, shy girl swearing under her breath as she attempted to make paper cranes for her Sociology class project.

Piper wanders into the fourth floor common room for no particular reason. She smiles when she spots Allie. "Hey. Allie, right? Haven't really seen you around since last semester."

Allie looks up from her folding and smiles. "Yeah, I can't remember your name though. But I know we had a couple classes together last semester."

She smiles. "Piper. We were in speech and home ec together. And starting a small business I think."

Allie blushes. "Wow, I can't believe we had three classes together and I couldn't remember your name. I'm sorry. What are you taking this semester?"

"Oh, don't worry about it," Piper said. "We didn't really talk much. We should do something about that."

"This semester, I'm taking two business classes, two sociology classes, Magical Theory, and US History. You?"

"Wow, that's a lot of classes. I'm taking Chemistry, Advanced Speech, Arthurian Traditions and Sociology of Sex Cultures." She glares at the paper surrounding her. "Do you happen to know how to fold origami cranes? I have to make them for our class project."

"Ah, I would have signed up for that speech class, but it conflicted with Magical Theory," Piper explains. "I've never tried folding origami cranes before, but I can try."

"Magical Theory?" Allie asks, looking at her curiously. "Do you have powers too?"

She looks back at the papers surrounding her and finds the instructions. "Here," she says, handing them to Piper. "You'll be my hero if you can help me figure this out."

Piper nods. "Yeah, but we don't really practice actual magic in class. We basically learn about the theories of magic. It's really interesting and helpful."

"Well, then I better figure this out then," she grins, looking over the instructions before trying to fold.

"What kind of powers do you have?" she asks. "All this supernatural stuff is new to me, but I found out today that my partner for this project is a demon."

"I can freeze things, like stopping time," Piper says. "And, um, I can kind of blow things up with my hands."

She continues working on the folding, actually figuring it out. And then she processes the rest of what Allie said. "A demon?"

Allie nods, not looking up from the paper she is trying to fold. "Yeah, he can make fireballs," she says with a shrug.

She looks up. "How come you have powers?"

Piper frowns a little. "Oh yeah, I know who you're talking about."

"As for why I have powers?" She shrugs. "It runs in the family. My mom's side."

"Are you a demon, too?"

"Uh, no," Piper says. "I'm a witch."

She smiles happily when she finishes an origami crane. "I did it!"

"Oh you are so totally my hero!" Allie exclaims, looking at the crane.

Then she starts giggling. "So are you a good witch or a bad witch?"

"Awww, I'm someone's hero?"

Piper giggles as well. "Good. Mostly."

"Well, that's good to know," Allie says. "I wouldn't want an evil hero. Now, can you show me how to do that so I can get these done before the wedding?"

Piper blinks. "Wedding? Please tell me you aren't actually planning to marry Bel."

She started to show Allie how she made the origami cranes.

"Oh, God, no!" Allie assures her. "It's a class project. We have to show what a traditional Japanese wedding is like."

Allie picks up a fresh piece of paper and follows Piper's instructions.

"Well, that's good to know," Piper says. "Sounds like an interesting class."

"It is," Allie says, holding up her newest attempt at a paper crane. "How's that look?"

Piper grins. "Looks good! See, it's not so hard."

"Not once I saw a finished one," she agrees.

"So do you live on this floor?"

"Not once I saw a finished one," she agrees.

"No, I live in the east attic. Was bored, so I thought I'd see if anyone was in one of the common rooms," Piper explains.
