The gym, Saturday afternoon

It's easier to think and hit things than it is to think and sit there and make yourself more upset. At least this way you're doing something about it instead of turning it into something to whine about. So Aeryn's in the gym again, pounding away on the punching bag again.

The poor punching bag never really stood a chance.

So sue him if he grins when he finds Aeryn in the gym. The sight is just too familiar and it seems right. It quickly goes away though as he watches her pound away at the bag.

"Yo," he finally says.

"You gonna save some for the next person," he asks as he motions to the bag.

"Not if Molly drops by, she seems intend to show off." He frowns as he thinks he sees her wince. "How's it going?"

"I'm fine," he moves around her and then goes to steady the bag for her. "Are you settling in again alright?"

"Hmmm," he recognises the being difficult and gives her a moment to revel in it. He's too curious, though, and it takes him a while before he finally manages to come up with a question that he hopes sounds casual enough. "What was it like going home again?"

He's got to lay his weight more against the bag in order to keep it in place, but he's mostly watching her face for reaction. "I mean, it was weird going home knowing what I learned here. So did it change anything for you, knowing how crazy us humans are?"

"What? Why?" Cameron asks, but as she stops he lets go of the bag and looks at her worried. "Are you alright?"

"Bad how? They kicked you out?" He automatically lowers his voice as she does.

"How else would you put it?"

"Okay," he says slowly and then asks the obvious question. "Why?"

Which doesn't add up. "You're not an idiot."

"Aeryn," he sighs and decides to let that one slide because she might be partly right anyway. "You're not an idiot, you don't take needless risks like some people do. So whatever you did, they decided that it was wrong and they punished you?" He wonders what sort of punishment people who breed kids for their army can come up with.

He tilts his head and watches her carefully. "And yet, knowing all that you went against them anyway. Must have been pretty important for you to decide to disobey."
