The gym, Friday after second period

Aeryn won't be leaving until later, so she heads into the gym after Driver's Ed, just to get some time in. She puts on her gloves and starts hitting the bag. Not in the angry way, but the half-focused-actually-thinking way.

Having missed out on gym in the morning for some mysterious reason, Cameron shows up somewhere during second period. "Yo!" He's in a good mood.

Aeryn looks over her shoulder at him, and greets him with a "Hi," before hitting the bag again.

"How's it going?" Cameron asks.

She shrugs. "I'll let you know when I figure it out," she says.

"Ah, gotcha." He nods and sits down near the weights. "Anything in particular you're not sure about?" He tries to sound casual.

Aeryn sighs, frowning at the bag. Like with John, she knows he knows something about Sam and Janet and that whole group, but not what, so she can't exactly say she's a little nervous about heading to someplace that's got to be military of her own free will. And then there's whatever she's doing with John, but she doesn't know if they're talking about that sort of thing again yet.

"Yes. I don't know how much I can actually talk about though." There. Honesty.

"Oh," he frowns and brushes some imaginary fluff from his sweats. "You can try telling me in smurfs? If you want to."

She's about to hit the bag before hearing one certain word, but stops just before the punch goes bad. "Telling you in what?"

"Smurfs, it's where you replace certain words with the word 'smurf'." He pauses and then gives it a go. "You're smurfing smurfily smurf today!"

Aeryn stares at him in horror. Maybe amazement. "What. the. frell."

He laughs because really he doesn't get that look all that much. "I'm sorry, you'll get it when Archie and I do our project for ACJ," he assures her and still smiling, he shrugs. "How about just giving me the basics? Unless that was actually code for I really don't want to talk about it to you in which case I'll stop asking."

"There's one thing I actually can't talk about," she says. "I don't know. Can you do me a favor?"

"Sure," he doesn't even think about it before agreeing.

"Make sure John doesn't mope around this weekend?"

He nods, frowning slightly. "Alright. Going somewhere?"

"Just for the weekend. It falls into that thing I shouldn't talk about," Aeryn tells him.

"Okay." It doesn't really make sense, but he's not going to push it. Well, not that part anyway. "John's not happy with it?"

"He's not upset over it or anything, but... It's leaving again." And a punch to the bag again.

"It's just for a weekend, he'll live." Cameron assures her and pauses. "It's just a weekend right? You're not going to go break your neck or run off on some big con that could possibly get you blown up on the other side of the galaxy?" Hello issues.

Aeryn raises her eyebrows. "Not as far as I know..."

"He'll be fine, I'll make sure he doesn't trip over his bottom lip," he says.

"Thanks," she says quietly, and goes back to the bag.

"Sure thing," he says as softly and watches her for a moment before asking. "Are you?"

"Am I what?" she asks, in between punches.

"Fine," he shrugs. "You seem a bit tense." Of course, she's been tense a whole lot since she came back.

She takes a moment to consider this before kicking the bag. "I'm getting there."

"Good," he says and means it when he geos on, "I'm glad." He's still not sure if she's entirely honest, but at least he can read her mood a bit better again.

She offers a little smile at that. And hits the bag again.

"Smurfy," Cameron says and maybe he's just looking to confuse her now.

Aeryn stares at him. Again. "I will hurt you," she says.

He gives her a cheeky smile. "Sure, but you'll have to spar with me to do it."

She pauses, and there's something a little weird about getting back to that, but it may just be due to where she's going. "Not today," she says, and hopes he's okay with that.

"Whenever you're ready," he says and he is okay with it.

She nods. "I need to get going. I still have things to do. I'll see you next week, all right?"

"Yep," he nods. "You have... fun?"

"Hopefully," she says, taking off her gloves and heading towards the door.
