Monday: 6:30 - Weird Hometown Club

Lana's in the classroom a little early, setting things up. She has a selection of pastries, chips, and drinks laid out for anyone who stops by.

She's working hard to look cheerful and upbeat, but it's probably pretty easy to tell it's mostly a facade. She is looking forward to seeing some of her friends, though, she's kept herself pretty isolated except for work and classes.

Angel signed in.

"Hey, Lana," Angel said. "How's it going?"

[ooc: Will prob. not be on much tonight due to RL stuff. Slowplay is our friend?]

Jenny's here as club advisor.

Jenny's got a snack and brought in an extra-large coffee.

The Smallville trip would rock. I'd have Jenny be chaperone, if you wanted one.

[OOC: Slowplay is *definitely* our friend. Tech week for me and rehearsal went waaaay over.]

Lana gives him a half smile. "Hanging in. How are you doing? I'm sorry. I've really been a terrible friend - haven't checked in on you or anything in, well... forever."

"Hey, Ms. Calendar. How are you doing?" Lana looked a little embarrassed. "Sorry I wasn't good about running the club the past couple of weeks. I apologize if you were inconvenienced in any way."

[OOC: That would be lovely! She'd be great as a chaperone. And maybe while there we could hear more about the Chosen One thing and that could lead into her geting permission to go into the special collections section of the library and from there... who knows!]

Xander... did actually show up and sign in. Contain your shock!

[OOC: We shall attempt to hide our amazement. ;) ]

Xander looked around at the small group of very familiar faces, and grinned lightly. "Possibly we should change our name to the Weird Hometowns That Start With S Support Group?"

"That would work," Lana says thoughtfully.

"Or," she said with mock seriousness, "Maybe we should change it to something that sounds exotic and exciting and then pretend that we're terribly exclusive and sorry, but no, it's too late for anyone else to join."

"Ah, the we're snootier than you and you can't have any of our cookies club," Xander said, nodding. "It's a good cookie-preservation technique."

"Exactly. Or maybe more precisely, the our cookies are better than yours and don't you wish you could have some club. Though we should find a catchier acronym."

"Oh, don't worry about it," said Jenny, nibbling on a cookie. "Really, I'd say we have a good rate of attendance. And the lack of mysterious deaths of club members? Also a bonus. And not so much what I'm used to."

OOC: Perfect! Let me know if you need any help planning the trip!

"I hadn't thought of it that way," Lana said, "But yes, so far, no mysterious deaths of club members - though Angel did come close, so... And for me, no abductions or attacks yet this year. That's a first!"

[OOC: Oh, trust me, I will! We want to run into some meteor mutants, so plotty goodness will need to happen! And I'd love your help! :) ]

"S'okay," Angel said. "Been busy."

He wondered if he could mention busy with what and then decided for Marty's sake to err on the side of caution. "You?"
