5th floor Common room: Way-damn-early (TM) Saturday Morning

Pippi woke up this morning feeling strangely different and yet, it was all somehow so familiar.

She decided to go out to the common room because she couldn't tell if the big lump on the bed was Molly, a figment of her imagination, or a pile of Molly's laundry.

She didn't want to be rude and wake up Molly's laundry. She might startle a nightshirt or two and they would feel threatened.

Nothing's more dangerous then a nightshirt that feels threatened.

So what does she do?

Make pancakes of course!

But not before turning on the Television and switching it to The Wizbits.

She sang along with the theme song... Though she was singing in Swedish, so the lyrics may not be the same.

Lana came into the common room following the scent of pancakes. "Hi. Are you a big person who can make me breakfast?" she asked politely.

"Nope!" said Pippi as she stood on a chair by the stove making pancake batter.

"I'm a tiny pirate from pirate's cove!" She looked up at Lana, "Can't you see that?"

*stir stir stir splash splash splash*

"But I will make you breakfast your Highness!"

Lana looked a little bit frightened. "A pirate? Pirates are very scary!" her lower lip quivered a little.

"Yeah, they're very scary." Said Pippi as she continued to stir the batter.

"And I'll tell you why... But first, would you like coffee or hot chocolate?"

"Mmm... hot chocolate, please," Lana said politely.

At least this seemed like a very nice pirate and she was making something that smelled yummy and she did call Lana 'your highness'...

Lana came all the way into the room and climbed up onto the couch and sat there hugging Bear. "So, how come they're scary?"

Nadia wandered in and waved at Pippi. "Hiiii Pippi." Then she saw the food. "Ooo! Pancakes!"

After all, running amock playing today would require lots of energy.

Pippi poured Princess Lana some hot chocolate and offered to her while bobbing a little curtsey.

"Your hot chocolate your Royal Highness!" she said primly before going back to cracking eggs and such.

"Pirates are scary because they never get any holidays! No days off at all! When you're a pirate, you wake up, and you're gonna have to be a pirate that day no matter what! So they're very foul tempered because everybody else get's holidays! Winter holidays and scrubbing holidays and weekends and summer vacation... You'd be all angry and scary too if you never got a holiday."

"... D'ya want eggs?"

"Hi Nadia!!! Yup pancakes! Want some?"

Lana's eyes got very big. "What about Christmas," she asked. "Don't pirates at least get Christmas?"

She took a sip of the hot chocolate. "This is very yummy. And, no, I think I would just like pancakes, please."

Nadia rolled her eyes. Or tried to. She wasn't a teenager yet, so she was still practicing. "Du-uh," She hopped into a seat at the table. "I have the Best Idea Ever."

She did, too. Woke up with it and everything.

She gets those a lot.

Wee!Mr. Neilson jumped up onto the table. He had to here this.

"Better then sliced bread or the belaying pin?" asked Pippi in awe.

Nadia didn't know what a belaying pin was. But this Idea was totally better'n bread. "Yes."

"Oh they could have Christmas if they wanted to..." mused Pippi as she poured out some big round pancakes.

"But it's not a holiday. So before they get to open any presents they still have to swab the decks, and clean out The Barrel, and hoist the mizzen-mast, and keep a lookout for ninjas, and lord help you if you don't have anybody to keelhaul!"

"If I give you coffee or hot chocolate will you tell me?"

Ooo! Coffee!

"I'm gonna find the best game there is and I'm going to get all my friends and we're all gonna play it!"

Lana's eyes got bigger and bigger. "Do pirates get to have any fun at all? Or do they just have to clean and do the mivven-gast thingy?"

"Wull..." said Pippi setting down a plate of pancakes for Lana. "The fun in being a pirate is all the plundering and pillaging and despoiling... But when yur a pirate... That's yur job! So you have to do it when the oppertunity comes around! Even if ya don't wanna!"

She went back to the stove to make more pancakes.

"But I've decided that today is a pirate holliday!"

Pippi gave her BFF OMG Nadia! a big ol' cup of coffee and set out milk and sugar as well.

"Neet! What game is that!!!"

"Yay!" Lana clapped her little hands. "Today's a holiday for the pirates!"

She thought for a minute. "I don't have a present to give you, but you can make a wish and since I'm a fairy princess it will come true."

Coffee and sugar! Woohoo!

Nadia added liberal amounts of both milk and sugar to her coffee until it was almost more cream than actual coffee because coffee was bitter and gross but it made you run really really really really really fast.

"I dunno yet. I'm going to find it . . . online!"

"Neet!!! Thank you your highness!" she curtsied on her chair with a huge mixing bowl in her arms.

"Ummmmm... I wish...."

Lana put down her fork and picked her wand up, ready to grant the nice pirate's wish.

"I wish Pip would come back because he's gone and I dunno where he went!"
