Puffin Campfire, Monday Evening

Edward sat himself down at the edge of the fire ring, eyeing the fire as he cautiously set a few books down. Hunting around for a little bit dug up a proper stick for marshmallow roasting, and opening a bag of large poofy marshmallows, Edward set some marshmallows to roasting.

Alphonse followed out himself, eyeing the books to make sure they were of proper distance away from the fire-- the last thing they needed was a fire gone out of control. He sat down near the ring and grabbed at a few marshmallows. "Perfect timing," Alphonse idly said.

Edward nodded, popping an unroasted marshmallow in his mouth. "Mm. Man, it's nice to have a civilized campfire once in a while."

Edward blinked, then pointed wordlessly over at Al. Twice. TWICE. He was going to have to fix this, and soon.

Continuing in his quest to be social, Stark headed out to campfire bearing his mostly-edible brownies from this morning's workshop. Sure, they were a little overdone but they were chocolate! How can you go wrong?

"I have brownies," he offered by way of greeting.

"It's been a while, hasn't it?" Alphonse leaned back against a large rock behind him, then looked over towards the stack. "Books again?" He wasn't sure what he was going to do with Edward at this rate.

"And I have marshmallows," Edward said, offering the bag upwards. Sugar is, of course, a universal greeting.

"Oh! Hello again," Alphonse greeted, and yay, brownies! Of course he was going to be polite and take one, regardless of how they looked. And, of course, he was glad to see someone again in a much better situation.

Tim looked from one to the other, sighing. "Okay sorry," he looked at Al. "Hi Al." then back at the other. "Hi other guy."

Edward smirked. "Not just books." He held one up for Alphonse to see. "Books on Flamel, and on interpreting the 'Mutus Liber.'" He flipped through one before tossing it at Al. "Can't get rusty."

Edward stared at him. "Hi, strange guy," he said automatically, then swivelled towards Al. "What the hell have you been UP to while I've been away getting my certification? Who the hell are all these people?"

Stark grinned and took a marshmallow before holding out the brownies.

"Thank you. I made them," he said, gesturing with the brownies. Whether that was a warning or statement of fact wasn't entirely clear.

Alphonse juggled with the book to keep it from falling; once he got ahold of it he started to skim through it, looking through the pages before finding a paragraph that caught his interest. "Ooh. I don't think I've read over this version before."

"I actually leave my room from time to time, Brother." Alphonse made a face at him. "It eventually ends with running into people."

Stark nodded at Tim. He was a big a fan of sugar as anyone.

"How is your head?"

"These are pretty good," Alphonse complimented. But of course, they were chocolate, and all sorts of chocolate was good. "Did you make them?"

"Exactly. I've got like several different versions of the same text. Have to comb through them all to see what differents from version to version." Edward nods, flipping through the interpretation of the "Mutus Liber" he had open.

"Well, isn't that special for you," Edward snorted. "At least *I'm* getting some actual work done."

Edward eyed the brownies, and then decided nothing could possibly be worse than the 'experiments' Winry used to feed him. Which occasionally contained mud instead of other important ingredients, like chocolate. "They look good," he said, taking one.

"Nothing at all," Edward said innocently. Which really wasn't all that innocently ... well, he'd work on that later.

"Yeah, this one is a little different from what I've read previously." Alphonse rubbed at the side of his head thoughtfully. "But if there's different versions, how're you going to tell which one's more valid?"
