Pippi is wandering around with the camcorder Jay and Silent Bob issued her the other day with instructions to try it out.

She's currently looking for something interesting to film.

Walter doesn't have a workshop excuse, but he does have a polaroid and he's not afraid to use it.

"Brilliant plan of the day?"

"Good idea. Now all we need is people." Walter brought his camera up and snapped Pippi's picture.

Pippi filmed Walter taking her picture.

"People are good. Yes." she said.

"Walter? Did you ever read a lot of classical literature?"

"Which kind? Arthur's library tends toward some stuff they'd probably keep in Special Collections here, and first editions of the Kama Sutra."

Yes, he's aware that's going on tape. That's more Arthur's problem than his.

"Kama Sutra? Is that anything like the Shuttered Palace?" Pippi asked.

"No, I mean like Greek plays... Like Oedipus. My Grandfather Fabe used to always go on about Oedipus."

"It's sort of an instructional manual. With pictures," said Walter, not knowing the other book even if the mun is amused.

"Oedipus," he made a face. "I know that one."

"Instructions with pictures? Yea... That book is like that." Pippi said, clearly amused.

"Oh you do? Grandfather Fabe used to read that to me all the time. He seemed to think the message behind it was important."

"The other message... Don't tell people their future."

Walter motioned to her to turn the camera off and waited.

"What are you getting at? I like you a lot, but you're about as subtle as a falling brick."

"I was raised to be charming strong, not sincere subtle." she said moving off under the shade of a tree at the outskirts of the campground.

Walter followed her into toward the woods and leaned against the tree.

"Right. If this is about calling home to talk to Arthur, I've already had a talking to from Alfred."

"Right. Then what's going on that you need to talk to me about Oedipus?"

"Just that Oedipus and his real family thought they knew the future, so they did drastic things in an effort to avoid those things and by doing that they brought about what was foretold in the worst possible way. If they hadn't 'known' the future everything would probably have been fine... After Papa and I bought that crystal ball Grandfather Fabe wouldn't stop telling me that story until I promised him I'd never use it to look into the future. And you can't think of one possible reason I'd want to talk to you about this?"

"I can think of a couple," Walter said slowly. "But I'd rather you said it instead of my volunteering something you didn't know about."

Tim was not trying to be sneaky this time. But he was trying to be quiet enough to hear the noises around him, and not drown them out.

Yeah, one of those friends' meltdowns this morning had been a bit of a giveaway.

"I haven't said anything to one of them. The other one... let's say that the vampire had a few words with her and she's not stupid."

Tim pauses, as he hears the call of a mourning dove. Of course he doesn't know that's what it is, the only birds he knows are sparrows and pigeons.
Pretty sound though. He thought it might be an owl.
