Koala Campfire, Wednesday night

Jude had slept most of the day, not having any workshops, meaning that he was bright and chipper as the sun was going down. So he wandered outside to the campfire pit and tried to get a fire started. He wasn't having much luck, but then again he wasn't trying too hard. He was still floating on a cloud from yesterday and the presence of a fire would probably only lead to him burning and/or melting something.

Phoebe took a seat on a log near Jude.

"Hey."

"Hey," he replied, smiling mellowly at her. The small wisp of smoke that had appeared went out and he frowned. "Aww, man."

Phoebe smiled. "Want a hand?"

Jude looked a bit sheepish. "Yeah, if ya don't mind. Can't seem to concentrate."

Phoebe kneeled next to the fire and pulled out some matches and pushed a few sticks together. In a few moments, there was a fire blazing.

Jude chuckled. "Awesome job, bra. I'm impressed." He sat back on a log and put his feet up against the edge of the pit.

Phoebe laughed. "Comes from dating a guy who can make his own fire and making me want to make fire if I need to."

"Make his own . . ." Jude but two and two together and, unlike his usual answer of seven, came up with, "Oh, right. Fireball-throwing demon. Gotcha."

Phoebe grinned and nodded.

"Yeah, that would be Cole."

"Cool. Don't think we've met yet . . ." Jude scratched his head, thinking. "Unless he was the guy who poked his head in when I dropped everything moving in . . . but I dunno if that counts as meeting."

[[Sorry, was food time.]]

"Cole is pretty damn good. I don't know what I'd do if he wasn't a part of my life."

Phoebe had a faraway look in her eyes for a moment and then it was gone.

"Please tell me that me having a boyfriend who can throw fireballs means that you and I can't hang out?"

"Why would it, bra?" Jude smiled at her. "As long as he doesn't throw them at me we'll be groovy."

Phoebe smiled. "He won't. He only throws them at people attacking."

"I kinda assumed so," Jude chuckled, then jerked his feet back. The tips of his toes were smoking. "Ooops . . ." He didn't look too upset by this, though.

Phoebe watched him and then grinned. "Jude... have you heard that I'm a witch who can feel other people's emotions?"

"Nah, I hadn't heard that," he replied, pulling off one boat-like skater shoe and inspecting the sole for melting. "Are you?"

Phoebe nodded. "I am... and I can feel that you're in a very happy mood."

Jude chuckled. "I am in a very happy mood."

"That's great! Why?"

Jude beamed. "I got a date for next Thursday with a pretty girl."

"Yay!"

"That's pretty much how I feel about it, too."

Phoebe -- being a girl -- wants more details.

"Where are you taking her?"

"Well, she doesn't really like crowds, so I was thinking of a picnic," Jude replied, staring into the fire. "At the beach. I was going to cook and bring it with us."

"Picnics are very nice and a bit romantic."

"That's the point, bra," Jude chuckled. "It's her first date, so I wanna make it special."

"Yo Jude." He waves cordially. "What are you up to?"

"Not much," Jude shrugged ~~having no recollection of snoring last night~~. "How 'bout you, bro?"

"Not much for me either. You gonna ever teach me that skateboarding stuff? Or were you just kidding aobut that?" Ranma looks innocent as usual. He has no idea what's up with Jude and Setsuna in any case and thus treats Jude as normally.

((Augg... not sleeping all week makes Ranma-mun sleepy like a sleepy thing. Slow play for a bit, this can be a short convo if you want. He just came by to say hello anyway))

"Yeah! Yeah, we can totally do that some time," Jude replied, as if suddenly remembering that he had, in fact, promised. "I'm cool any time, just see if I'm around."

[[As you can see, I was already in bed. *grin*]]

"Good. I'll see you about it tomorrow. ~~because you OBVIOUSLY don't have plans with a certain someone~~ Are you free then?"

((hah I do see. Oh yeah I didn't get to say but have fun at your convention! Anime Central for me was recently and that was super awesome. I hope you have a great time!))

Jude nodded. "Yeah, bro, not doin' anything. ~~At least this Thursday.~~ Afternoon?" Because sleep was far more important, so that killed the morning.

"Fine by me. I have nothing to do. ~~Strangly I have a feeling we'll totally miss that.~~ If I don't find you we can try another day. I'm not in a rush."

"Groovy, bro." Jude was gleeful at the thought of a new disciple. Of course, gleeful for Jude was mellow for just about everyone else.

"Gotcha." He grins and scampers off.

((Oh no. This friendship can only end in tears and angst. Perfect.))
