Campsite Gym - Thursday Morning

Marie woke up suprisingly early and realized that she had been slacking in keeping up with her stretching and other ballet exercises. In fact, she hadn't done anything physical at all, aside from walking to and from classes. If she was going to be a cheerleader, she'd need to be in shape.

So she headed to the gym and began doing a series of stretching exercises in the middle of the floor.

Still not having worked out all his issues sparring with Alanna last night, Bel headed for the gym, going straight for the punching bag again. There were bruises on his face from where Alanna's punches had connected.

Marie looked up from the floor, ready to tease Bel, as usual, but she immediately sensed that joking would not be welcome.

She studied him quietly for a moment, noting the bruises, before asking, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," he said. "Just lowered my guard while sparring last night."

"You were sparring last night and you're back this morning?" Marie said, a questioning tone in her voice.

"Got a few things to work out," he said, giving the bag a solid punch.

John showed up to the gym to kick ass and do katas. Well, kata first.

Marie continued her exercises, watching as Bel hit the bag.

She wasn't sure if she should push him to talk, so she didn't say anything, figuring if he wanted to talk, he would.

Marie smiled. "Do you need me to move to one side of the floor?" she asked.

Pippi wandered in and went directly for the jumpropes.

"Morning gym peoples."

"Good morning," Marie said. She'd finally finished stretching and was now off in a corner of the gym, running through some barre exercises, supporting herself on the handles of an exercise bike.

"Have we met?" Pippi said tilting her head at Marie... "I kinda missed the day everybody was going around with nametags... I'm Pippi, Pippi Longstocking."

She approached the other girl with her hand out.

"I'm Marie," she said, shaking the proffered hand. "Nice to meet you."

"Likewise Marie." Pippi said shaking her hand gently. She stepped back to give her room to continue her exercises. "How are you finding Summer Camp?"

"Ever had a friend lie to you, Marie?" Bel muttered as he punched the bag.

"Not that I can recall," Marie said. "Or at least not about anything important."

"I like it," Marie said with a grin. "So far both of my workshops have been great and I have one more tomorrow. And I'm going to be a cheerleader!"

Gwynn stopped in at the gym to start doing more of her sword work and some more of her training moves. She might have been smiling.

"You're lucky, then," Bel said.

"That's great!" Pippi said as she started skipping the rope. "I'm going to be a cheerleader too! ... I hope. What workshops are you taking?"

"What happened?" Marie asked.

"Oh, that'll be fun!" Marie said, her eyes shining.

"I'm taking writing, astronomy and applied dadism. What about you?"

Marie smiled at another person she hadn't met, but by now she had her leg thrown up on the handlebars of the exercise bike and was running through a series of plies and releves, so couldn't wave.
