WELCOME TO CHEERLEADER TRYOUTS!

Bleachers have been pulled out for the audience to sit on, the judges are in place (at least some of them are there at all times), there's a CD player there for your music, but no food or drinks, so bring your own or be entrepreneuring.

Buffy and the other ~~already pressganged~~ cheerleaders are sitting behind a loooong table, silently and not so silently judging you. They will talk amongst themselves, and may welcome bribes. Though not cheesecakes with booby-traps.

Say your name and cabin. Cheer your heart out! Do impressive gymnastics! See if you can make Buffy's face turn purple! (leave a message in OOC thread if you're just here for the latter)

Heckle! Clap! Cheer the cheerleaders! Sell soft drinks and hot dogs!

Of course, she mightn't listen to you...

Buffy is very excited indeed. She has bottled water and a notebook and a pen with a fuzzy cap. She's totally ready to judge.

Jamie? Bored. Also? Still has glitter on him.

Maybe this is why he decides to try out for cheerleading.

"Hi. My name's Jamie Madrox and I'm here to represent the greatest cabin ever. CABIN STICKBUG! YEAH!"

Jamie then assumes the start position.

"Ready? OK!
Bang, bang, choo, choo train
Come on Stickbugs! Do your thing!
Get um, get um, get um, get um,
Got um got um got um got um..."

Jamie then does a dance move that's vaguely obscene that is accompanied by a loud grunt.

"And let it roll..."

Jamie then does a bunch of hopping and jumping followed by another cheer:

"Razzle Dazzle(clap clap clap)
Razzle Dazzle(clap clap clap)
My name is Jamie
I'm number one
My Razzle Dazzle has just begun
So when you see me step aside."

You know Jamie don't take no Jive!
Oooh baby I don't think I'm bad.
No, baby I know I'm bad."

Jamie then repeats the dance move that's vaguely obscene and accompanies it with another loud grunt.

"And let it roll..."

D nodded to those she knew at the judges table.

"D'anna Biers, Seawhorse."

Wow, was this embarrassing. Still, it kind of looked like ~~fun~~ good exercise, so she took a deep breath and smiled.

"Come on Germlins, You can do it, put a little bite into it!

B-I-T-E, bite!

We've got the power of the bite, cause we are the Gremlins. The ~~bitey~~ mighty gremlins!

We said it, and we meant it, and we're here to represent it! Cause we are the Gremlins! The ~~bitey~~ mighty gremlins!

GO GREMLINS!"

There had been a lot of clapping, some jumping, but no impressive gymnastics.

Molly sat down next to Buffy. She felt a little self conscious in the short skirt, but knew she just needed to get used to it.

"Do we have any idea how many people are trying out?"

Buffy stared. And at some point, glared. It was possible that she was prejudiced towards Stickbugs. When Jamie had finished she nodded. "Okay, thanks that was.... Interesting."

Buffy sat up straight and wrote down D'anna's name with a nice flower next to it. Impressive lungs! She beamed. "Thank you!"

Buffy flipped through her notebook, looking for names. After a moment she looked over at Molly and shook her head. "I have no idea. I have, like, five people ~~press ganged~~ written up as interested, but I think there were more at the meeting..."

I'm a very optimistic person.

"Wait!" Jamie said with a cheerleader kick. "I got more!"

Jamie stomped his feet several times and several Jamies appeared next him.

They quickly formed a human pyramid and begin to chant:

"We're Stickbugs! We reach the sky!
Our Stickbug banner flies so high!

Don't try and stop us! No you can't!
We occasionally read Immanuel Kant!

And when you think we love Meerkats?
Look out for the cheesecake that goes splat!"

ANYTHING but Kant! *runs away*

*snugs and gives you cheesecake*

"That's cool," Molly said. "More is better."

Buffy's jaw dropped.

Being Swedish, wearing blue and gold comes easy to Pippi.

"Pippi Longstocking. I'm from the Noble Squirrel Cabin."

Pippi mimics the basketball cheers she found on the internet.

It won't, it won't, it won't go in,
It'll roll around the rim, but it won't go in.
THAT'S RIGHT!

Shoot for two, Gremlins, shoot for two
Take it, to the top of the key, we want three!
Shoot for two, shoot for two, Gremlins, push it through!
D-r-i-double b-l-e, take that ball to a victory!
Sink it, put it in, two points let's win!
Gremlins, rip up the court, score two more!

During the latter cheer, Pippi demonstrates some moderately impressive gymnastics. She doesn't stick her landings they way somebody who's been formally trained would, but she's got very good balance and a general disregard for her own well-being.

Molly just glared at Jamie.

*demands cheesecake OMG*

Not even a Walter who thinks he is a pseudo-Russian spy, would be stalking a Squirrel (Pippi) and would cheer in a very bad Russian accent?

The Jamies noticed the glaring and the jaw dropping. They formed a kickline and proceeded to chant:

"Don't be gnarly! Don't get mold!
Don't blame me because the water's cold!

I've been glittered! My underwear taken!
Meerkats did it if I'm not mistaken!

Don't dismiss me 'cuz I'm a stickbug!
I'm still the best you ugly mugs!"

The Jamies then break apart in random woots, hops and kicks in the air.

Occasionally there is the random: "Go Stickbug!"

"We. Didn't. Do. The underwear thing!" Molly yelled back.
