Dorm hallways, around lunchtime

Bel was skulking. He was too restless to stay caged in his room, but he didn't want to hang out in a common room like this, either. So he skulked, roaming the hallways, trying to avoid people, pausing every five minutes to try to force himself back into human form. So far, no luck.

This sucked.

Marie was on her way back to her room after her writing workshop when she noticed someone she hadn't met. He was a little scary looking, but she smiled anyway.

"Hi," she greeted. "I'm Marie. I don't think we've met yet. Are you a new student too?"

"Oh great," Bel said. "You. Now my day is complete."

Pippi is on her way back from lunch.

"Hi Bel," she said casually, "How ya doin?"

"Excuse me?" Marie said. "Did we meet and I forgot?" Not like she could forget a huge guy with red and black skin, but he certainly seemed like he knew her.

"I'm Belthazor," he snarled. Then he remembered what Willow had said about joining with Marie in making him cranky all the time. He peered suspiciously at Marie. "You didn't have anything to do with this, did you?"

Bel blinked at her casual manner.

"Demon," he said, gesturing to himself.

Pippi tilted her head at him.

"Girl." she said, gesturing to herself.

Faithful had been trotting around the hallways looking for people to bother. "Nice look."

"Bel?" Marie repeated, staring at him increduously. "But... how? Why? And what would I have had to do with it?"

Walter was on his way to grab an unwrinkled waistcoat before going to work when he spotted Bel in a form he remembered from the Bel vs. Morality video.

"Did someone piss you off today?" he asked, because, you know, demon.

"I'm stuck like this!" Bel flailed.

"You tell me," Bel growled. "A witch could do this."

"Shut up."

"Woke up like this," Bel sighed, in as much as he could sigh at the moment. "Don't know why."

"Oh dear... That must be hard on your wardrobe." she said. "Has this ever happened before?"

"I usually can change back and forth, no problem," Bel said. "But I woke up like this and I can't change back."

"I'm not a witch!" Marie protested. "And why would anyone want to make you look like that?"

"So, you're lurking because you don't want people to think you're going to," he pantomimed throwing a ball of flamey doom. "Or did I just catch you at a moment when you look like you're lurking, but you really aren't?"

"So you're like this forever now?"

Nadia caught sight of Bel out of the corner of her eye as she wandered around and tensed.

"I didn't do it!"

While "stalking a demon" certainly didn't sound like something than any sensible person should be doing, Sakurazaki simply reminded herself as she executed her best ninja training around the halls exactly why she was doing it to steel her resolve. This could be important or pivitol for her; or he could just tell her to fuck off, which, from her experience, is what she actually expected most.

But then there was the question of how to actually approach him. She had to wait for things to be quiet and empty.

When the time comes, she gives up the ninja bit and leans a shoulder on the wall. "Hey," she calls out simply to his back, her little eyes still gazing hard and thoughtful at it.

Bel eyed her suspicously. "You're awfully quick to deny it," he said.

Nadia eyed him back, her hand going to her backpack where her mallet was. "Well, I didn't. I don't think." Marty and Veronica had said that Bel only went demon when he was ready to kill something.

She was damned well not going to be that something. Because then Marty would have to bring her back to life just to kill her again for being dumb.

"Your roommate is, though," Bel said. "And it would be a great prank, wouldn't it?" He sighed. "Okay, maybe you didn't do it."

"I'm lurky," Bel admitted. "I don't know how to deal with this. I've never been stuck before."
