Outside the dorms, Wednesday Evening

The weather is nice tonight and Ranma is glad for it. He spent some time online today handwavily looking up things about a little cat-hating companion. He would have to ask about the policy for getting a pet and were he could find one. He sighed heavily and hopped up into a tree. He hung both legs over the side as he sat on the lowest branch. He was feeling especially alone for the first time in a long time. He watched the wind lightly ruffle the leaves and the grass. And he really had no thoughts on how to cheer himself up. What a crappy day.

He catches it by raising one hand effortlessly and peeks his head out of the foliage.

Alec was wandering, as you do. And despite being in Fandom, people hanging out in trees was kind of different. So he stopped, looking up. "Communing with nature, or lose a kite?"

He looks down at him. "Well... I'm not eatting leaves or anything." He hops down and lands easily on both feet.

"That's probably good," Alec says, smirking. "Who knows what it might do to you, considering where we are. You a student or just surveilling the dorms?"

"I'm a freshman. Ranma Saotome." He puts out his hand to shake. He finally got used to doing that. Go Ranma. "And you are?"

"Alec, a junior." He shakes Ranma's hand firmly, cocking his head at the other student. "Are you another Japanese student?"

"Yeah. I spent a few years in China too though.Damn those random cursed puddles..."

"Cool. I met Sakurazaki-san a while back, but I haven't seen her for a while," he says. "Is Fandom your first visit to the states?"

"Setsuna..." Ooh... Touchy subject after she seriously rejected him last night. But he shakes it off. "Yeah. It's different but I like it. The only thing I miss from home is the food."

"Gotta be a way to solve that," Alec says, looking thoughtful. The kid seems nice and he's bored, so might as well waste some time solving someone else's problems. "I'm guessing you don't cook or it wouldn't be much of an issue. Know anyone who cooks well?"

"I actually cook pretty good. I was thinking about making food sometime. The thing is I gotta go out and buy things to make it and it's a bit of a pain. You know?" He usually keeps the cooking skills to himself since he wouldn't want to seem any MORE girly than he all ready is. But since he was spefically asked he figured no harm in telling it straight.

Alec shrugs. "Hey, if it's what you miss, seems like it'd be worth the trouble. What would you make, out of curiosity?"

"I'm not sure.. something easy like Katsudonburi or Gyudonburi. Maybe something with fish too..." He loves food. Man now he's getting hungry.

((ooc: Wow. I just read most of the Dark Angel Summary. Interesting... I never really watch TV but this sounds crazy and neat. I oughta hunt some down to watch it))

Nodding, Alec grins. "I have no idea what those are, but they sound good," he says.

"Heh. They are. So... what brings you outside?"

"Wandering," he shrugs. "Feels kind of crowded in the dorms sometimes and it's nice to be able to get out, move around."

"I agree there. My room is nice usually. Though I like to be outside when it's not raining. But I feel like I've gotten lazy since I got here. I should be in the gym more." He hasn't been out in awhile actually.

"It's nice not to have anything you really have to do," Alec says, shrugging. "Think I've had enough of that to last me a while."

"Sure it is nice to have no laid out plans but.. I feel restless sometimes."

"For what exactly?" Alec moves to lean against the tree, looking mildly curious.

"Just running around and training like I used to I supose."

Alec shrugs. "My whole life up 'til now has been training; I figure there has to be a point where I start enjoying where I'm at or I'm not going to care about whether I've trained enough or not anyway."
