Fourth Floor Common Room -- Sunday Morning

Dean had spent yesterday pretty much just lazing about doing nothing, but inspired both by talking with Sammy about cooking and teaching Alec some simple junkfood recipes (although he suspected the real lesson that had been imparted was if you want something to eat, go bug Dean), he was up relatively early this Sunday morning ensconced in the common room kitchen, making up breakfast. Nothing fancy, just bacon, eggs and toast, but the smells were making his mouth water.

He deliberately cooked far more than he could eat himself both because he was used to cooking for more than just one person and because one thing he'd learned about this place was if you cook it, they will come. Dean dished himself up a plate, covered the rest to keep it warm and settled down to eat in front of the tv.

Idly he wondered if Sammy's radar for his cooking would work from one floor below.

Zack could smell the scent of food from down on the third floor. He wandered into the common room. "Morning."

Aeryn doesn't usually venture into common rooms that aren't on the second floor often, but nevertheless she finds herself on the fourth floor. Because introducing her to soccer could be dangerous. She gives a little smile by way of greeting.

Dean chewed and swallowed before answering. "Morning. There's breakfast if you want it." He waved his fork in the direction of where he'd left the food.

"Hey Aeryn," Dean greeted her with a smile of his own. "Do Sabaceans eat bacon and eggs?"

"When it's available," she answers. "You're busy early."

"Thanks," Zack said, helping himself to a large serving of bacon and eggs. "You make this?"

Zack nodded to Aeryn. "Morning," he managed to squeak out.

"Had a sudden bout of nostalgia for when I had to cook for my little brother," he explained. He nodded to where he'd left the food out. "Help yourself if you're hungry."

"Yep. Figured if I was cooking, might as well make enough to share."

She goes to fix herself a plate, and asks, "You did this often?"

"Haven't seen you in a while," she says, not at all amused by the squeak.

Zack flopped down on the couch and started eating. "It's good."

"Oh, you know, been busy with classes." Zack tried to stop his voice from squeaking again.

Either Sam's radar for Dean's cooking was finely tuned, or he was just lucky to catch the smell of breakfast food as he went up to the fourth floor. "Good morning," he said, grinning.

"A lot of mornings we'd just have cold cereal or something, but yeah, I'd do the whole works pretty regularly."

"I'm still learning," she admits. "The eggs and the toast I can do." She studies a piece of bacon. "This I don't."

Dean made a show of checking his watch and grinned. "Ten minutes. Factoring the fact you were on another floor, that's pretty good."

"Anything interesting?" she asks, completely casually.

"Thanks," Dean said. "Not that it was really difficult or anything to do."

"Don't know how or have had some bad bacon experiences?" Dean asked curiously.

Zack tried to think of something that the scary lady might find interesting. "I tied up Bridge, then had a disscusion of inefective kidnapping techniques?"

"If you'd given me some warning yesterday or this morning, I would have been up here even faster. I might have even offered to help," he teased.

Dean grinned. "I could've set you to butter the toast," he teased, referring to what had been Sammy's job when they were younger.

"Don't know how," Aeryn clarifies. "There's such a thing as a bad bacon experience?"

That gets an eyebrow raise. "I hope you also got to discuss effective techniques."
