3d Floor Common Room, Early Tuesday Morning

She was curled up in a ball at the end of the couch, a thermal blanket wrapped around her. Vacant eyes watched as the paid programming on a local channel transitioned to the local morning news. Her mind, however, wasn't on the tales of flooded creekbeds and roads. It was instead on the figure in black that had wakened her the previous morning.

Logic told her that it wasn't really Bester, that it couldn't be; her aim with the lamp hadn't been that far off, and the chair should have at least nicked him. That left three options: One -- that she was imagining things; two -- that the old man was from a different timeline, and getting more nimble in his own age; and three -- that he had actually been there, but the objects missed for some other reason. Was it possible that he had been given a second chance, as she had? She furrowed her brow. Did he even have any redeeming qualities to warrant a second chance?

And then there was the small fact that he had simply disappeared as easily as he had appeared. Which leads me to number one, she thought darkly. But there was no imagining the deep scan -- it was a singular feeling, and not one she longed to relive. No, she hadn't been imagining things. So what was he?

She frowned at the television. There was a fourth option...but she wasn't quite ready to go there. Yet.

[OOC: Interaction with Lyta may be slow, as I'm at work. Otherwise, open for your 3d floor common room needs.]
