Anakin had woken up early due to the emotions he'd felt from Callisto's alcove, but she hadn't cried out so he didn't want to bother her.

He had padded out into the living room, hair still mussed from sleeping, and was contemplating whether or not to make coffee.

[OOC: Open to Flamingoes and anyone thinking the counselors might have a clue what's going on. Which, until Xander arrives, they don't. But there's coffee!]

There was absolutely no question in Veronica's mind about whether or not to make coffee. She stumbled out of bed, checked on Archie, who seemed to be comfortably asleep on his makeshift hammock and made a beeline for the coffee pot, barely noticing Anakin's presence.

Anakin ran a hand through his hair--not improving the way it looked--and gave Veronica a small smile.

"Morning," he said.

Or tried to.

He frowned, cleared his throat and tried again.

Nothing.

Yeah, definitely time for coffee.

Veronica had her back turned, intent on the task at hand, and thus didn't notice Anakin attempting to speak. As soon as she flipped the pot on, she sprawled out on one of the couches and gave him a half-hearted wave.

Anakin gave her a wave back.

"Nice broadcast last night," he said.

Nope. Still nothing.

Looking slightly puzzled, he gave a glance over to the coffee pot to see how much longer it was going to take. Maybe he needed something to make his throat less dry, even though he didn't fell like he was getting sick.

Okay, so now she noticed that Anakin had opened his mouth but nothing came out and she tilted her head. "Are you sick?" she asked, her eyes growing wide as she realized she wasn't making any noise either.

Chloe headed into the living room, working her hands through her hair in an attempt to get it all flipping in the same direction. Hopefully, she wouldn't have to be the one to make the coffee this morning.

Anakin shook his head, looking more concerned. "This is weird," he mouthed, then stood up to watch the coffee pot intently.

Coffee would make everything better.

It was possible he'd spent too much time with Rory.

Veronica nodded and ran back to her alcove for her laptop and cell phone. Yay technology.

She opened a blank Word document and started typing.

Do you think this is just effecting us? Or the whole camp?

She walked over and tapped Anakin's shoulder, holding out the computer so he could read it.

Veronica waved and wondered if Chloe could talk. But since she couldn't ask, she wasn't sure how to convey her question. So she tilted her head and watched her, waiting.

Anakin frowned, then started typing.

I don't know. Prank on the instructors, maybe? Don't know how they did it...

Anakin waved, too, and waited to see if the speechlessness was limited to Veronica and him.

They did make a cabin disappear. Voices wouldn't be too hard. But why on a weekend? Wouldn't they want to get us on a day they had workshops?

Veronica glanced at the coffee pot and willed it to brew faster.

The coffee is taking forever Anakin typed, then paused, thinking.

Maybe it's supposed to last for more than a weekend? Or it reacted too early or something?

"Hey guys," Chloe tried to say, giving both of them a confused look when no sound came out.

While he had the laptop, Veronica grabbed two mugs from the cupboard, so they'd be prepared when the world's slowest coffee was finally brewed.

She read his note and nodded in agreement on the coffee thing before typing back.

Do you sense anything weird?

She honestly had no clue how Anakin's abilities worked, but she remembered his help when she was being haunted.

Anakin closed his eyes and stretched out into the Force for a moment.

He bit his lip then opened his eyes and began typing.

Lots of confusion from the camp. So I'm guessing that means it's not just affecting us. And something else, but I can't identify it. It just makes me uncomfortable.

He looked apologetic, then finished up by writing, Sorry this isn't more helpful.

Veronica gave him a wry smile.

At least we know it's not a prank on us.

Then she thought of some of the things she'd seen over the last year and shuddered at the sudden realization that it could be much worse.

Damn, I wish Piper was here. Maybe I should go back to the dorms and break into her room. She has a book about magic that might shed some light on this.

Chloe read through the conversation, and gave Anakin a little pat on the head. Thank you for checking, she typed, pointing to Anakin, before turning to Veronica. Do you think Piper's book will help?

Anakin's eyes lit up as the coffee finally finished percolating.

He poured mugs for the three of them, then took a gulp from his own.

Information is always good, he typed.

This seems to be more than a mere case of widespread laryngitis. Which automatically makes me think of something magical, especially since Anakin sensed something odd. I can't think of where else to look.

She yawned and mouthed 'Good morning'. Frowned, cleared her throat and tried it again.

Xander finally back to his own cabin after leaving Meerkat, and gave a wave and a small worried smile as he came through the door.

You guys all OK? he wrote on his whiteboard, and held it up.
