In Koala and on the edge of the woods, Late Monday

Ranma didn't want to forget to send an email to Setsuna's friend Konoka. He had been feeling like he should apologize for awhile now. He'd typed up and sent off a fairly short message to her.

Dear Konoka-san, This is Ranma, Setsuna's friend, if you forgot. I guess this'll sound stupid but I was meaning to say sorry for leaving on the phone in a hurry. I don't know if Setsuna said anything to you about me... but I get mad about stuff sometimes that's stupid. I mean, well to tell you the truth, I was upset that Setsuna didn't tell me Jude was her boyfriend. That's all. It's not your fault so I just wanted to say sorry. Hope you can read English all right. I'd write in Japanese but I don't have a keyboard for that you know. Sorry for wasting your time and rambling like this.
Ranma Saotome

After he sent that he heard Mizu whining at him. Time to take a walk. He leashed Mizu and they pair went for a walk near the trees. Mizu did his business fairly soon into the trip but Ranma was enjoying the air so much that he decided to take a prolonged walk for himself.

Although Sakurazaki really enjoyed the warmth of an evening like this, the heat didn't mesh well with all the confusion inside of her head, having her feel sluggish and generally irritated if she'd stayed in the cabin too long. It'd been a while since she's had a nice, leisurely walk, anyway, and maybe she could sort some things out. She was tempted to pull out her wings, too, but her back still hurt from last week, in addition to the bruises and soreness still from Fight Club.

In her wanderings, Sakurazaki comes across Ranma and Mizu. There was a little bit of a sigh. It was nice to try to get her thoughts around and, of course, how timely...she had just been getting around to piecing through all the muddled, mismatched parts of his puzzle.

//"Hey, you two,"// she greets the boy and his dog idly, with a little wave, drifting nearer.

//Hey Setsuna!// He smiles and he and Mizu walk over leasurely. //I was gonna find ya today cuz I wanted to talk 'bout somethin...//

A flash of worry crosses her face, perhaps even a little whimper. What, everyone gets their voices back and now all they wanted to do was talk? She knew the silence thing would be too good to last...And Sakurazaki is also suddenly reminded that she still has her pretty pink sundress on. Damn this dress! She was burning it tonight, no doubt about it...

Or maybe not. Face rather flushed, Sakurazaki timidly asks, //"...Wh...What's up, Ranma?"//

//First... What the heck are ya wearin'?// Blush induced. //Well uh... it's somethin' sorta weird. I mean.... I think I want to be cured. I mean usually I hate my girlform and I want this curse thing gone but... today when I was talkin' to Bel about this shimmer thing... he coulda probably taken me to the Springs easy. Right then. And suddenly... I didn't want to... I dunno what's wrong with me...//

//"What the....You picked this out for me, I'll have you know!"// Sakurazaki is instantly red and screaming in shocked contempt, but it fades away as quickly as it arrives, and she's sputtering slightly, meeting his ramble with one of her own. //"Well, not you, really, but Ranma-chan, but....you...you talked to Bel? He...he didn't say anything about me, did I?"// A little paranoid? Little barely seemed to cover it. //"But, wait, what? Shimmer thing? Bel...Bel knows where the spring are? And what do you mean, you didn't want to? What is wrong with you?"//

The barage loses him a bit (like most things)... He can't keep track of them all, he deals with a few. //Ranma-chan... at least has good taste...// he laughs a bit. Then turns more serious. //Sayin' somethin' 'bout ya? No. I didn't talk 'bout ya.... What would he say 'bout ya?//

Good taste?! Sakurazaki scowls a little. This dress was definately meeting flames once she got back to her cabin now.

But a brief moment of flushing panic hits her in response to his last question. //"Oh, nothing, nothing."// True, she had a feeling that Ranma knew about all the demon stuff, but there was no need to perpetuate it, just in case he didn't. An edge of seriousness cuts through her. //"That doesn't really matter right now. The Springs, though? He really knows where they are?"//

//'s there something you ain't tellin' me...? I don't like bein' lied to.// He looks a bit hurt, he's picking up on this things better than he used to. Ooh. Lying. Might there be some Ranma-chan deja vu...?

//"I...I'm not...I'm not lyin---"// Technically, keeping a secret wasn't necissarily lying. And she was entitled to have her secrets. Especially that one.

Suddenly, she crosses her arms over her chest, voice adopting a stern quality. //"Stop changing the subject, Ranma. You're acting like this Spring thing isn't good news, or something. Why else would you avoid talking about it?"//

And someone this particular demon attempted to kill probably was entitled to know. //I ain't avoidin' it. I was gonna talk to ya about it anyways. I brought it up! Why're YOU changing the subject huh?//

//"I wasn't changing the subject,"// she informs him with a very certain incline of her chin. //"I was refocusing it to the original topic at hand!"//

//What is it Bel knows 'bout ya? I can just ask him ya know. He's in my cabin!//

Arrrg! Sometimes, Sakurazaki was certain that Ranma Saotome was the most stubborn, pig-headed, idiot person ever. He made her want to pull her hair out. How could she even have romanticized their relationship in her head not more that ten minutes ago? It was offcial; she was hopelessly insane.

//"Why does it even matter?"// She actually does clench her fists around her head a bit. //"We're not talking about me, we're talking about you and the goddamn springs!"//

//Why won't ya tell me?!// He's not walking away this time. No sir. He's standing his ground. She better fess up.

Didn't she just tell him that? Sakurazaki stamps a foot on the ground to keep from just wanting to punch him.

//"Because I wanna talk about the SPRING, you idiot!"//

//If I talk about the springs will you tell me?// Mizu howls once, fighting makes him get all upset.

For a brief moment, Sakurazaki flustered, but it was enough to make her convictions falter slightly.

//"W...why should I have to bargain for something you were going to tell me about anyway?"//

//Brought it on yerself. I WANT to talk to ya Setsuna... but I want you to talk ta me too!//

//"But I don't have anything to talk about!"//

Her arms flailed. Just a little.

Feeling dejected, as usual, he sighs. //Why does Bel get to know and I don't...?//

//"Because Bel..."//

...Because Bel what? Was another half-demon? Could understand? Anything she could think to say would either inspire more questions or give it away. And she was just not ready for that right now. Not again. Bel got to know because Bel was like her, simple as that.

....But then what about Alphonse?

Sucking in a deep breath, Sakurazaki reminds herself that if she were to tell Ranma, then the guilt would drive her crazy until she told Jude as well and...and she could never tell Jude. She'd rather take it to the grave if she could.

//"Just never mind, Ranma, God! It's not anything you'd probably want to hear about anyway, Bel just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. It's embarrassing. Can't you have a little respect for a girl's sense of privacy?"//

Sakurazaki hopes her wince isn't too obvious. Not only was she lying to him, but she felt a small influence of Ranma-chan in that. Yikes.

When girly-ness starts to get involved he drops it. //...Fine... 'll tell ya 'bout the springs anyways. Even though it embarasses me. Whatever. I don't mind it cuz I trust you.// He does give her a bit of a glare though. He's upset to think aobut how he must have a more deep realationship with her than she does with him. He wishes they're shre mutual feelings and it would be so much easier...

How could she not catch the glare? And could could she not return it to him just as sharply?

//"What's so embarrasing about finding a cure for your curse? And I think I've been exposed to your female self enough that you shouldn't be embarrassed about that in front of me at this point, anyway."//

//No! I'm embarassed cuz... suddenly I don't know if I want ta be cured!//

Sakurazaki blinks. So she hadn't just heard that incorrectly earlier.

"Oh," she says, and then after a moment. "Ohhhhh."

//"Wait."// She frowns. //"Why not?"//
