Cally led Nadia up, after fetching some aspirin and a couple cartons of ice cream, and deposited her on a couch with one of the cartons, a spoon, and the aspirin.

"Ta-da," she said. "Seriously, how could life get any better, huh? I mean, other than a foot massage. Which I guess if you really want you could convince me."

Nadia stuck out a foot and examined it for a moment. She hadn't put her shoes back on in the gymnasium. "I think my feet are okay. But I would not object."

She popped the aspirin into her mouth and washed it down with a spoonful of ice cream.

Blair Bel bounced into the room. "Hi Nadia and Cally!" he said.

Cally nodded. "Well then," she said, sitting down at Nadia's feet. "I've been told I have magic hands, actually."

Oh gods he's still bouncing.

"Hi Bel!" Cally said.

"Hmmm," Nadia murmured into another spoonful of ice cream. "We'll see."

Nadia blinked. A lot.

"Am I hallucinating, or are you bouncing?"

"Is it still call people by the wrong name day?" Bel said. "No one told me I was supposed to be Bel for the day."

Cally got herself more comfortable and grabbed hold of Nadia's foot, massaging her thumbs against it in circles.

"I've got a reputation to uphold, then," she said. "So, you want to know what really happened, or should we stick with the striptease licking version?"

"I don't think you're hallucinating," Bel said, cocking his head. "Are you seeing spots?"

Early in the game, Pippi saw a mouse and chased after it.

So she missed the whole Gremlin thing.

"If you don't mind, just call me Blair," Bel said, bouncing a little.

"We won!" Cally said. "Though technically we also lost, since the school was playing with itself."

"Okay, Blair," Cally said, realizing Bel was really under the effects of the bite. "You, uh, having a good day?"

Bel bounced. "I'm trying to start an underground railroad to help Sister Becky and Sister Miho save the girls from the Sin," he said.

"Yay!" she said. "Was it very exciting?"

"Noooooooo, but I did hit my head. . . ."

"No idea! Don't remember a bit of it," said Nadia, who was currently attempting to balance a bowl of ice cream on the bump on her head.

Nadia peered at her. "I dunno. Do I want to know the real version?"

"It might involve gerbil armies," Cally said, still massaging Nadia's foot.

"Terribly," Cally said. "It was absolutely enrapturing."

"What's interesting is that the part of that that makes me go 'what?' is the plural. Did the gerbils steal my clothes?"

Bel dropped his voice. "They're nuns in disguise," he said, "but it's a secret."
