Gym, Tuesday morning

Cameron was working the bag a bit enthusiastically this morning. Chances were that he was trying not to think too much about the fact that it was the last time he was going to be training with someone. It wasn't working.

Veronica walked in to the gym and this week sucked because every time she did something it occurred to her that it was the very likely the last time she'd be doing it before she left.

"Good morning," she greeted Cameron in a forced cheerful tone.

"Morning," he said, stepping away from the bag as he turned towards her. "I'm gonna try not to say it."

"I appreciate that," Veronica said, immediately going to grab gloves.

"Yeah," he said, wandering over to the mat as he already had his gear on and his shoes were off. "So... How's it going."

"They're... going. Forward. Very rapidly," she said, kicking her shoes off and joining him on the mat.

"I know what you mean," he said even if he wasn't the one leaving next week. "Maybe there's some spell thingie to fix that? Make extra time or something?"

Veronica considered that for, oh, half a second before remembering the consequences Piper and Phoebe had faced for casting personal gain spells. "Um, yeah, I don't think that would work," she said.

"We can just set back all the calenders?" he tried.

"That puts you one more year away from the Air Force Academy," she pointed out.

He sighed. "Don't make me chose between my friend and the Air Force."

Veronica actually smiled. "You act like I'm not going to be your friend after I leave."

"It's the live ass kicking I'm going to miss," he teased.

"Well, then, let's get to some ass kicking," she said.

"I'll try to be gently," he said with a smirk, getting into a defensive position.

Veronica immediately threw a kick at his stomach. "I won't."

Cameron quickly lowered his arm to block. He pushed her leg away and aimed a punch to her side. "I'll refrain from commenting on account that I would deserve an asskicking," he told her.

With a chuckle, she side-stepped the punch and aimed a punch of her own at his chest. "I'm sure you've done something to deserve an asskicking."

"Me?" he asked innocently, blocking and launching a roundhouse kick at her hip. "You're probably right," he finally conceded.

She swatted away the kick and punched at his stomach and chest in rapid succession.

"And if you haven't already, I'm sure you will so it could be a pre-emptive asskicking."

He managed to get the punch to his stomach, but the other one connected and he stumbled back a bit. "You're too good to me," he told her, trying another sidekick.

"I try," Veronica gave him a sweet smile as she avoided his kick and decided to try knocking his feet out from under him.

"Nice try," he smirked as he sidestepped the attempt, "but you're going to have to do better." He aimed a punch to her side, followed quickly by one to her shoulder.

Marty walked into the gym and gave Cameron and V a friendly wave before stretching out a bit and starting working out on the weight machines.

"Morning."

"Yo!" Cameron greeted, realising he hadn't seen Marty in a long time. At least he managed to remember the dare Angela gave him. "How's it going, Marty the Gremlin Bait?"

Marty blinked at Cam and then started laughing. "Gremlin Bait? Now that's an accurate assessment. I'm doing all right. How've you been, Cam?"
