The roof, Saturday morning

Bel woke up early and headed to the roof for a morning cigarette and to check on his plants.

What the hell, why were they listlessly leaning to the side and strangling themselves with their own leaves?

Lana was up early again herself. She still wasn't used to this roommate thing and she was afraid of waking her so she wandered up to the roof to relax and look out over the grounds.

She smiled when she saw Bel. "Morning."

"I know," she said with a rueful smile. "I get so used to being up early to open the store and all that on the weekends I'm just... up."

She tilted her head and looked at him curiously. "What's your excuse."

Bel shrugged. "Wanted a smoke and figured I would check on the garden." He looked mournfully at his spikey redish plants.

"Okay, so maybe I don't talk to them like Blair says I should," Bel said, "but I do take pretty good care of them."

Lana shrugs. "Maybe they're supposed to do that?"

"Ah well, nothing you can do about them I suppose. So, how are your new classes going?"

"They look almost . . . emo," Bel said, frowning. He sighed. "Classes are going okay. They're pretty interesting. How about you?"

"Classes are going really well, work's good, life is good," Lana said with a dreamy smile.

She looked more closely at the plants. "You know, they say plants respond to emotion and all. Do you think they're being affected by all the emo on the roof?"

Marie was awake early and realized that she'd spent the entire week hiding in her room aside from classes again.

So she made her way to the roof. "Morning," she said.

He peered at his plants again and scowled. "If somebody's making my plants emo, I may have to kill them."

"I didn't do it on purpose," Marie protested. My mun just had the week from hell. "It just sort of happened." She gave Lana a curious look. "Why are you so great?" she asked.

Stalking? Jim? Noooo. He just happened to see his favourite backside disappearing up a flight of stairs when he poked his head out of his room and decided to follow.
