Fifth Floor Common Room - Tuesday Morning

Marie was up early and baking muffins in the common room. She had the radio on and was singing along. One might say she was in a good mood.



[open! she's making blueberry, banana nut and apple cinnamon muffins.]

After Criminal Justice, Bel headed back to his room and passed through the fifth floor CR. There seemed to be free food, so he stopped, holding back a snicker as he watched Marie dance around.

"Morning," Marie said. "Want a muffin?"

"I never turn down free food," Bel said, grabbing a blueberry muffin.

Naomi didn't have class until after lunch but she was feeling particularly restless and on top of her worry about her mother she felt she needed to be doing something so she decided to check out the common rooms and when she saw that there were people in the fifth floor common room she decided to stop by.

"How's your day so far?" Marie asked.

Marie smiled and waved. "Hi," she said. "I'm Marie. Help yourself to a muffin."

Bel shrugged. "Had to build traps in Criminal Justice, that's about it," he said. "You?"

Naomi smiled and waved in response, "I'm Naomi, thanks" she said as she selected a muffin

"Traps for what?" Marie asked, swapping one pair of plastic gloves for another as she started mixing another batch of muffin mix.

"You new or just someone I hadn't met yet?" Marie asked.

After getting back from turning forms into the office, Phoebe was passing by the common room when she smelled good things cooking.

"Hey Marie."

Shawn is up on the fifth floor. Again. He seems to spend more time there than on his own floor for some reason.

He grinned at Marie from the doorway, "Someone's perky this morning."

"I'm a new student," Naomi replied

"I've been here since May," Marie said. "How are you adjusting? Where are you from?"

"Hey, Phoebe," Marie smiled. "How are you?"

"A mousetrap," Bel said, scratching his head. "With like, legos and pipe cleaners and glitter and crap."

"Good morning, Shawn," Marie greeted. "I am in a good mood. How are you?"

Marie looked confused. "What does that have to do with criminal justice?"

Bel shrugged. "Symbolic of escaping justice? I dunno. V's weird."

"In a pretty good mood myself," Shawn replied deciding that maybe it was worth actually going into the common room rather than hanging out in the doorway. "Just in the process of figuring out what to do with myself for the day, no class."

"I've adjusted better than what I thought I would," Naomi responded honestly, "this is my first time attending a school and it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be," she paused, "the past couple of years I've been living in San Francisco, California, I'm from the year 2380," no matter how many times Naomi had told people that she still felt weird.

"Saying something or someone is weird is pretty normal around here," Marie pointed out.

"Wow, it's good that you're adjusting so well," Marie said. "I'm from modern day Mississippi."

"True enough," Bel said. He finished his muffin and flopped down in a chair. "I'm bored," he announced.
