3rd Floor Common Room: Saturday AM

Lana woke up early for some reason. Lavender was sick and Lana didn't want to bother her, so she gathered up some stuff and headed for the common room. She put on coffee and set out some pastries she'd picked up from J GOB yesterday.

Then she curled up on the sofa with a blanket and did a little channel surfing while nibbling on a pastry.

Joxer hopped into the common room, looking as if he was searching for something. He waved at Lana.

"Hi!"

Lana smiled at him. "Joxer! Hi! Come have a pastry."

Joxer looked at the pastries and smiled. "Thanks, Lana. I think I will."

He grabbed one and sat down on the opposite end of the sofa from Lana.

"So... how're you doing?"

Lana smiled. "Good. Very good. I haven't been this happy in a long time. And classes are going really well."

"Mmm, morning," Jim yawned as he shuffled into the common room, leaning over her for a moment to plant a kiss on her forehead before beelining for the coffee.

Joxer attempted to gesture his head in the direction of Jim. "He been treating you nicely?"

Lana smiled at him. "Morning. Get a pastry, too. Don't want that coffee eating through your stomach lining."

Lana looked over at Jim dreamily. "Oh yeah, he definitely is."

She looked over at Joxer and grinned. "Actually, I think people are starting to think he's great 'cause he's making me so happy. Far fewer death threats this week."

Jim flexed one arm in a mock-muscleman pose before reaching for a mug. "My stomach lining can take anything you can throw at it. It's tough." But he snagged a pastry anyways.

"Well I wasn't going to offer any unless they were neccessary," Joxer said. "Has he asked you to Homecoming yet?"

"No, he hasn't actually," Lana said thoughtfully. "I hadn't even thought about Homecoming."

Joxer rubbed his face, a little embarassed. "I asked Kaylee last night," he said. "She said yes." He was smiling.

Joxer nodded. "I'm really happy about it," he said. "I'm gonna be the luckiest guy on the dance floor. Though Jim might have a good case to try and rival me."

Lana laughed, imagining the subtlety - or lack thereof - of Joxer dropping hints. "I'll let you know if it comes to that, but for now I think I'll just wait and see what he does."
