5th Floor Common Room, Morning
Lyra hadn't been sleeping well, ever since her nightmare. So, on Thursday, she made a virtue of the inevitable and when she woke in a cold sweat, she rolled out of bed. After performing her morning ablutions, she wandered into the common room and eyed the kitchenette area speculatively.
Omlettes had been a hit, and she hadn't anything to do until class, so...
She rummaged around in the cupboards and fridge until she had the ingredients for French toast laid out on the counters. Syrup, butter, honey and powdered sugar were set out on one of the tables, as well as milk and juice, and she set a pot of water on to boil for tea. She considered coffee, but a breif inspection of the machine told her it was way out of her league and she made a mental note to ask someone else to show her how to work it.
She ate the first few pieces of toast she made and waited for other students to follow the scent of breakfast.
