Third Floor Common Room; Friday Evening, before the Dance.

Chad stood in front of the stove in the suddenly rather idealic kitchenette in the third floor common room, wearing a rather frilly apron as he put the finishing touched on the dinner he was making for himself and Ranma. The frilly ones were the only ones he could find, but he didn't want to get any food on his snazzy black jacket. And he knew the common room wasn't probably an ideal place for a pre-homecoming dinner, but there were several factors to influence his decision. The odds were that everyone would be off doing their own dinner things elsewhere, or getting ready, so the traffic would hopefully be minimal. He also wanted to share with Ranma Mexican food, and wasn't familiar enough with the restaurants in the area to know if what they served was any good. And if you want something done right, do it yourself. The last consideration was a picnic...Mexican food didn't make for very good picnic foods. So the Third Floor Common Room it was, but Chad set it up so that it looked nice, tossing a table cloth over the table in the kitchenette, used fancy looking cups. He considered lighting some candles, but worried that they might suggest too much.

Now all he needed was his date.

[[ for Ranma, obviously, though it is a public space, which makes them interuptable, technically speaking. :P ]]

Ranma tried not to take too long getting ready, even as a male though he usually wakes up early and tries to look, what he considers, nice. Putting on a dress was a very awkward experience but... he gets it on, and even manages to tie a little ribbon in his hair. It's still in a ponytail though, taking it out is out of the question for any occasion... He walks in, sorta looking at his feet. He's too nervous to even bring up the frilly apron. "Hey.... Chad..."

He blushes a fair amount. Or a lot. At the same timew, he tries to change the subject. "T-That.. smells good..."

"I'll eat pretty much anything." He nods. Anything but Akane's cooking.

Ranma, who brought his own chopsticks like any good Japanese boy, smiles and lowers his head slightly, "Itadakimasu."

((Japanese just say it before they eat, so it's just "lets eat" I supose))

He's going to eat his RICE with the chopsticks... He dishes himself some food and lifts the plate a bit to properly shovel food to his mouth without spilling on his dress.

He was raised in the wilderness. As a MALE, believe it or not. But being raised as such for so long, he had SERIOUS skills. He doesn't spill anything.

"It's really good. Thanks." He doesn't let the talking slow him down too much.

He stops, chopsticks hanging out of his mouth and gives Chad a confused look.

Ranma shrugs and goes back to his eating. Talking is not for the dinner table. It slows you down.

He finishes and stands, not a single stain on his dress. "That was great actually. I've never had Mexican before." Oooh. Double meanings are fun.

"Let's put it this way... I'd do it again.Yeah! You're a good cook you know?"

[identity profile] ranma-sao.livejournal.com 2006-10-07 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
"I actually didn't know that." He walks over next to him. "You need any help?"

"Well then... Off we go..."
