Gym, Thursday afternoon

It had been longer than Dean wanted to admit since the last time he'd had a good sparring session. So he was looking forward to this afternoon's activities when he entered the gym and began to warm up as he waited for Alec to arrive.

Alec wandered down to the gym after a few minutes, grinning widely; he was looking forward to the opportunity to do something physical in a publically acceptable way. He walked towards Dean as he came in, almost bouncy. "Hey, you ready?"

"Yeah," Dean said, finishing up stretching. "Just try to remember that good as I am, I don't actually have super strength or reflexes."

Alec rolled his eyes as he did some minimal stretching as well. "Don't throw you into any walls, right?"

"That would make a nice change, thanks," Dean said dryly, smling a little as he moved to the middle of the sparring area.

Following Dean, Alec rolled one shoulder idly and brought up his hands in loose fists, vaguely defensive. "So how do you wanna do this? Just come at me?"

Dean tilted his head considering. "Generally by the time I'm in hand to hand situations with things, they're coming at me."

Alec shrugged and moved forward suddenly with a punch towards Dean's head. He wasn't kidding around, but it wasn't quite full power either, nor utilizing anything faster than normal human speed.

Dean was half expecting Alec to come at him immediately so he was tensed and ready to duck out of the way. He reached out to grab Alec's arm, intending to pull use his own momentum to pull him forward and onto Dean's other fist.

Pulled off balance slightly, Alec still managed to recover enough not to take Dean's fist with all of his weight. Flashing a pleasantly surprised grin, Alec backed off a couple steps, rubbing at the spot Dean had hit thoughtfully. "Keep going until someone says stop?"

Dean grinned back wolfishly. "Sounds good to me." He waited for a couple of seconds then launched a kick at Alec's knee.
