Fourth floor common room, Thursday noonish

No classes meant a whole lot of napping for Jude. But a boy must eat, so eventually he reluctantly crawled out of bed, kissed Setsuna, and limped off to the common room to see what kind of food could be prepared. Sadly, he was all out of sticks. Regular pancakes would have to do at the moment. Didn't stop him from making them funny shapes, though.

For once, Door's found her way to her own common room; she blames the smell of food wafting down the hall on the day that would be her sleep-in day even if there were classes.

"Good morning...ish!" she says with a grin, poking her nose into the room and sniffing hopefully.

Jude chuckled. "Heavy on the ish, bra. Pancake?" He lifted the frying pan a little off the stove to indicate its presence.

"Ooh, please? They smell lovely." Door grins, not remotely sheepishly. "And it's morning if you just woke up, which I did."

"Here's something I never expected to see, a day when you're up before I am." Setsuna grinned at the pancake master a moment before shuffling into the room and giving him a kiss on the cheek. She'd also gotten a shower and dressed before she decided to go find out where he'd disappeared to. She was not without a concerned frown, though. "You really think you should be up and cooking on that ankle?"

She also had a genial smile and a wave for the other girl in the room that she didn't know.

"Hello!" Door says, waving back with her fork omgsilverwaremodder. "I'm Door - I'm in 418."

Joxer was singing to himself as he walked into the common room this morning.

"Joxer the Mighty,
Roams through the Fandom-side,
He never needs a place to hide,
With Chad-o as his sidekick,
Fighting with his... real big whatever-he-fights-with..."

Joxer pointed at door, in a manner that wasn't meant as rude but probably was.

"I don't think I know you," he said.

Jude expertly flipped the pancake with a twist of his wrist before sliding it onto a plate. Spatulas were for the weak. He shuffled a bit, trying not to put too much weight on his cast as he held out the plate with a grin. "Here ya go, bra. More comin'."

Jude started bopping in time to the theme song.

"Hey." Jude beamed at her and stretched out for a kiss. He wiggled his casted leg at her. "Look, I'm being a good boy and not standing on it and everything. Pancake?"

So, Halloween face paint? That washes off pretty well. Funny thing is, though, bleach doesn't, not so much.

Which would be why the Conner who followed the pancake smell up a floor was still platinum-headed. "Nothing like the smell of breakfast food in the morning."

"Thank you!" Door takes the plate from him quickly, noting the injury. "You're in my Literature class, aren't you? And... animal languages, as well? I'm Door."

Joxer stopped singing and gave Jude a wave. "Hello," he said. "Beautiful day, isn't it?"

Fortunately Door's quite used to all sorts of greetings, from formal introductions to sullen grunts. She nods and smiles. "I'm Door. I just started this term."

"I'm Joxer," he introduced himself. "Joxer the Mighty. I just started in the summer."

Jude chuckled, beaming a little dorkily. "Yeah, it's not bad. Pancake?"

"Oh, is there school in the summer here as well?" Door takes his name at face value for now; he might not look all that mighty, but plenty of people have hidden talents, after all.

"Hey, Door!" Conner calls, waving over at her.

"If you're offering, I'm not going to turn it down," Joxer said. "A hero has got to keep himself properly fed, after all."

"Uh, yeah." Jude chuckled and scratched the back of his neck sheepishly. "I kinda sleep through the first one."

Door blinks for a moment, then says, "Conner?"

Setsuna smiled a bit at the ready introduction. No having to ask or anything! That made things easier. "Hi, Door. I'm Setsuna, 412."

"Sort of school," Joxer said. "We had workshop thingies, where they'd strip you and you had to make your own clothes, or you'd have to sing for that angry guy who runs the karaoke bar, stuff like that."

Jude nodded seriously. "Totally, bro." He slipped a bunch of dollar pancakes out of the frying pan onto a plate and handing it to him, pivoting on his non-casted leg.

"Yep, still me," Conner says reassuringly, because he's pretty much anticipating that reaction by now. "Promise. How's it going?"
