The Roof, Wednesday Evening

After glancing out her dorm window a few times, she decided she should probably get out more. She took a small umbrella, in case of rain, and headed up to the roof. She's not been up here much, the view is nice... the island is really lovely... and the ocean was so vast.. it almost took her breath away. Or it could be the chilled wind that just hit her. She curled up and took a seat on the edge of the roof. She's engrossed in reading Catch 22.

For the second time that day, Billy made his way to the roof. "Hi." he greeted the seated figure.

Hikaru had fallen asleep doing some homework and Kaoru had felt that it was one of those days he needed a good breather. What brought him to the roof, he wasn't really sure except that it seemed like the perfect place to clear one's mind for a few minutes.

He stepped slowly toward the edge of the roof, paying no mind to the dark figure under the umbrella. It wasn't out of disrespect, he just didn't figure on staying for long and bothering someone who'd come before him.

"Hi there." She shut her book with a smile. "I think we've met. You're Billy right?"

The seated figure reached to take his hand.

"That's possible." he said. "Yeah I'm billy. And you're...I want to say, Millie?"

Once fingers brushed his skin he tensed and drew his hand back out of instinct, his heart racing a little. "Oh! Mattie! I didn't notice who was under that umbrella." He'd been rather absorbed in the feeling of the light rain on his face and hadn't been expecting a sudden bit of contact.

"Matilda actually. But that's close enough." She grins.

"We can share if you want." She smiles and peeks from underneath.

A glance around before he sat down seemed to be in order. "Sure.."

"Matilda. Dang, right sorry."

She holds the umbrella over them both. "So.. what brings you up here?"

"You can call me Millie if it's easier to remember." She chuckles.

"It is fewer syllables." He agreed, smiling slightly. "So is there a prediction of rain that I didn't hear?" he asked, pointing to the umbrella.

He sighed a little, holding his feet out straight to look at his gistening shoes, "Just needed a bit of air. A break from thinking." He glanced over to her. "You?"

She leans a little closer. It's only because she wants to be more under the umbrella. Really. "I was just reading."

"Not too dark, ne?" He grinned a little and put his hands back on the ledge for a little support.

"Well. It's cloudy. Who knows. I'd always say better safe than sorry. I wouldn't want my poor book getting all wet." She nods.

"I brought a flashlight but right now I'm good. I used to read in the dark a lot."

"Hikaru and I used to use our flashlights to hide under the blankets and talk. Not very similar, but I was reminded of it." He looked off toward the park.

"Good reason." Also Billy thought, it looked, rather pleasant, as if it were the next best thing to it actually raining. "What're you reading?"

"I'm excited about that trip." She smiles at him.

He makes a face similar to a kitty-esque smile, eyes closed and mouth gently curled at the ends. "I must warn you, we have some twin maids you are rather fond of dressing pretty girls up in any clothes they can get access to."

She sticks out her tongue at him. "I won't have to worry then huh?"

"Catch 22. We were talking about Brave New World in Literature the other day and I always assosiate the two for some reason."

He blinked his eyes open and turned to face her. "I...wouldn't have said that if I wasn't suggesting you'd have some worries.." He furrowed his brow a little, not exactly having seen her less confident side before.
