Lurking around outside, Thursday Night

Though Henry had been there for a few days, it was Edward’s first night at Fandom. His face was flushed with the simple joy of existing. To him the night was beautiful and everything oddly sacred.
But being quickly tired with that, he went looking for some property to vandalize.

Ranma is out walking his no so much a puppy anymore, Mizu was getting bigger. But he was still a cutey Beagle. Mizu went over to sniff this person's ankles.

Edward's in a pleasent mood, so he stops to scratch behind Mizu's ears. In his own warped version of conversation, he says to Ranma, "You might wanna keep him away from the bushes behind me. If he smells that tomcat, he'll bolt."

"C-C-Cat...? You mean in those bushes?" He steps back a few steps but Mizu looks quite happy for the atention. Mizu wags his tail and barks in dog, //Cat? I don't smell it? Where is?// Mizu starts getting excited and pulling on his leash to go explore. Ranma hates talking in dog in front of random strangers but desprate times call for despreate measures. //Mizu no!// Edward sees now a nervous Japanese boy barking at his dog.

Edward does not understand Dog, nor Japanese. He does, however, understand fear. He hadn't meant to scare the poor boy...
...but he'll view this as a bonus.
"Yeah. I think it's looking for a mate. I mean, something had to be guarding that litter."

"You mean... there's more than one?" Ranma is trying not to let his voice crack with fear as he nevously flips into Japanese. //Oh no it could be comin' from anywhere!// He tugs on Mizu's leash and barks at him some more, //No. Not over there Mizu!//

//Wanma! I wanna go pway!// Mizu tugs toward the bushes.

Edward smiles as brightly as is possible, and says "Yeah, loads! Take a look." And bends over to peer in the bush.
"Oh." Mock disapointment floods his voice. "They're gone. They could be anywhere by now."

"ANYwhere?!" He doesn't hesitate to pick up Mizu and hop up into the nearest tree. "I'm just... going to sit up here for a bit..."

This is too much fun. Edward stifles a snicker, reapplies the innocent look, and calls up, "Good thinking! You check that tree, maybe one's stuck up there." Edward then proceeds to climb up the nearest oak. "I've got this one!"

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Ranma finally breaks and hops out of the tree and BOLTS for the his room. Mizu is still in his arms. Poor puppy.

Edward's lucky that Ranma left at that moment, because he can't hold in the laughter any more. He laughs and laughs until his stomach hurts, waiting to calm down. Once he does, he sets off at a leisurely pace for his own room. He was out looking for trouble, and he found it. Mission accomplished.
