Hallways, a little before noon

Buffy was skipping her way down the stairs, headed for the gym. Today was Cheerleading tryout day! It was the best day ever, in Buffy's opinion.

(ooc: This is a good time to run into Buffy and get hauled into cheerleading. And if you don't need hauling GO CHEER YAY! Or watch! ...not dirty.)

Tori had been on her way to the gym to workout and had somehow forgotten cheerleading tryouts were today, because she was surprised to find she wasn't alone as she made her trek downstairs.

"Morning."

"Hey!" Buffy smiled. "Are you trying out?" It was tryout day, after all. Surely there was no other reason to be heading in the same direction as Buffy?

"Trying out?" Tori was slightly confused. "I was just heading down to get a workout in."

"Exactly!" It was possible that she didn't hear the last part. "I'm sure you'll be a good cheerleader. Do you have any experience?"

"No, I don't." Tori shook her head, wondering just how she had gotten to this point in the conversation.

"Oh, well, I'm sure you'll do well, anyway," Buffy assured her. "It's not really that hard. Do you have a cheer ready?"

Tori hadn't even thought of trying out, but she supposed there was no way of backing out now, and besides, it might be fun.

She thought of the cheer her highschool used and decided she could edit it a little bit. "I think I have one, yes."

Buffy gave her a bright smile. "Good!"

Tori smiled back, still in disbelief in what she was about to do. "So, I just have to go in there, give a cheer and perform some gymnastics?"

She had watched the cheerleading team at her old highschool during practice, so she had an idea of what to do.

"Yup," Buffy nodded, as she pushed open the doors to the gym. "I need to set things up first, but you can warm up in the other part of the gym!"

"Okay, thanks." Tori smiled and moved off to a vacant part of the gym to stretch and practice some moves.

Evie was just heading down to read in the lobby when she almost literally ran into Buffy. "Oh! Excuse me, I'm so sorry."

Buffy reached out to hold her up. "Hi! No problem! Are you heading where I'm heading?" She'd returned to her room to get a notebook and was now headed back to the gym.

"Well, I'm headed down?" Evie pointed down the stairs. "To the lobby. It's got a lovely couch for reading on." She took in Buffy's outfit, and blinked. "Oh, yes, you're one of the cheer-leaders, aren't you? Your group always looks like it's having such fun."

Buffy smiled. "Oh we do! It's heaps of fun, we have slumber parties and everything. Hey, don't you want to join me instead of going to the couch? It'll be super fun, I swear."

"Join you?" Evie blinked, bewildered. "Join you where?"

"In the gym!" Buffy said cheerfully, reaching out to put an arm around Evie's shoulder to steer her the right way. "Tryouts are today!"

Evie, being a lot weaker and not particularly fast compared to a Slayer, followed along where Buffy lead. "Tryouts? For cheerleading? Oh, but-- no, really, I couldn't wear those little skirts, I'd, I'd, no, you, this is, oh, dear..."

"Don't worry," Buffy said reassuringly. "There's nothing to it really. You just say a cheer and then you show off your tumbling skills! We'll have tons of fun if you make it!"

"Eeep." Evie, not being able to stand up to Hurricaine Buffy, was towed toward the gym, eyes wide, clutching her books like life preservers.

Ami was walking down the hall from the library, when she saw a person she had not yet met. "HI" she said as she waived friendly-like.
