Dorm Hallways, Stairwells, and Environs, Sunday Morning

Despite her usual inclination to sleep as late as possible on Sundays, Zero was up bright and early, roaming the dorms with her camcorder in hand. She'd even wrangled a microphone from somewhere to shove in her victims subjects' faces. After all, this might wear off at any moment and she didn't want to miss any more than she had to.

Okay, that? Definitely got Zero's attention. They could cut that part out in post, though. She waited until Lonnie was decent to ask, "Um, hi. What happened to your door?" and shove the microphone at Lonnie.

"Some furry freak went through it this morning," Lonnie said, eyeing the microphone. "You a reporter or sumthin?"

"No," Zero said, "I'm an independent filmmaker. Making a documentary. Wanna be in it?"

"Like porn?" Lonnie's had offers before. "How much you paying?"

"No. Not porn. A documentary about...the people at this school. And how they stop being polite and start being real." Zero rummaged around in her pockets. Heeeey, where had her favorite safety pin gone? "Um. Ten bucks?"

"I ain't ever been polite. Ten bucks, ten minutes," she said. "Anymore and it'll cost ya."

"Ten minutes should be plenty." Zero handed over the cash, then asked her quickly, "So, what's your name, where are you from, what are you doing here? The usual stuff."

"I'm Lonnie. I'm from New York, an I'm here cause stupid ass Rath went chasing after some skirt and left me here," Lonnie snarled out. "But I'll fix his ass. See if I'm here when he comes crawlin' back."

"It's a fuckin' hell hole," she glared. "You'd think I could find somebody to play with but I ain't had no luck."

"The hell? I need ta explain it to ya?" Lonnie asked, rolling her eyes. "Bunch of freakin' virgins around here, I swear. The nasty? Ya know? Sex?"

"It just hasn't been the right time yet!" Zero yelped. "I mean. Um. We'll cut that part out in post. You've got to be kiddin' me. You can't find somebody to have sex with around here?" She pondered that for a moment. "There's always the guys that think they're boywhores."

"I tried, last night. The bastard wanted me to pay." She drew herself up, "I don't pay."

Rita was hurrying down the hallway in a dark dress, hat on her head, looking very, very rushed. Her eyes widened when she saw Zero, then she smiled a little. "Good morning, Zero. Excuse me."

Zero brightened immediately. "Good morning, Rita! Have some time to talk to me about your encounter with a man with rubber nipples last night?"

"Rubber nipples?" Rita's eyes widened hugely, running down her encounters last night in her mind, then she brightened. "Oh, Robin!"

"Yes! Robin! I'm told he, er, accosted you. Tell us more about that."

"Well, it was actually a misunderstanding. He came swooping out of the trees, and wanted to know where I was in such a rush to. Also, he wanted to search me for weapons!" Rita looked shocked, shocked that anyone could think she would carry weapons.

"Did he search you for weapons? And did you have any?"

"No." Rita looked a little too pleased with herself. "Well. I may have had a gun. And a knife. A girl has to protect herself! He walked me to Caritas because he was worried about me."

Waldo was investigating the stairs. They seemed nice and sturdy, unlikely to collapse suddenly.

"And what were your feelings on him escorting you to Caritas?"

"Hello!" Waldo said in a voice that if it were a little more booming could sound like Justice incarnate. Satisfied with the structural integrity of the stairs, he headed back down the stairs to continue his travels.

Zero shrugged. Well, she'd gotten a few seconds' footage of whoever he was.

Tim was walking down the hall when he noticed the stripey-haired girl with the camera. "Good morning," he said, cheerfully and Britishly.

Lonnie nodded dismissively and turned back to the room to dig out her boots.

"Tim Canterbury. Pleased to meet you," Tim said. "Any special reason why you're walking around with a camera?"

"Oh, I'm filming a documentary. Would you like to be in it?" Zero asked him.

"A documentary? I'm not sure why anyone would want me in a documentary," Tim said, "but sure. Why not?"

"Can I be honest with you?" Rita asked solemnly. "I mean, really honest?"

"Absolutely."

"Men are stupid," Rita said, her voice hardening. "All you have to do is be 'oooo, you're so strong' and they'll do anything for you. Especially if they think you're sweet and helpless."

"You're more like her than you know," Zero said softly.

Rita blinked at Zero, trying for the sweetness and light again. "Really? I thought you said-- anyway." She smiled. "Robin walked me to Caritas. Then went back to jumping out of trees. And yes, he was wearing a rubber suit with his underwear on the outside." She snorted. "Not the brightest bulb in the candelabra."

"Yes," Zero agreed. "Well, Rita, I think that'll be about all for now. Maybe I'll catch up with you later?"
