5th Floor Common Room - Friday after lunch

Pippi trudged up to the common room after the Stu Co meeting.

She's tired, she's cold, and really really hungry. It's very frustrating to be able to take a bite of something and then it falls through your face.

It's also a little gross.

Okay, a lot gross.

She really doesn't want to try again but she's so hungry... So she focuses on opening the pantry door. Which she succeeds at. However, she doesn't note until it's too late how dark it is in there. Not until that darkness reaches out and wraps around her wrist.

Pippi cries out in surprise and alarm, waving her hand in a futile attempt to shake the shadow off.

"No! Get off! Get off!"

She stumbles back as the shadow slides out of the pantry to embrace her. Shivering and flailing she at fist bumps into, then falls through, the kitchen table. Finally, she just relents, curling up on the floor until the shadow has had it's fill and slips away.

Hearing the noise, River hurried to the common room, and saw a transparent Pippi curled up on the floor. She looked so very weak and tired and un-Pippi-like that River felt like crying.

Kneeling beside her, River reached out her hand. "Pippi?"

"Pippi? The shadows got you?" Transparent people were harder to mind read, but the pain was clear enough. River let out a small noise. She couldn't think of anything to do but gently stroke where Pippi's hair was visible, even if she couldn't feel it.

"Want me to do anything?" she asked, still stroking Pippi's hair, or rather the air where it should be.

With a quick nod, River got up and left, returning with a small candle. "Want me to light this and place it inside of you?" she offered.

"No idea, but it might. Don't know unless you try," River said.

River lit the candle and placed it on the table. "Stand here?"

River grinned, happy to have thought of something useful.

"Ooh!" River's face lit up. "What did he say?"

River did a happy jump. "Good. Perfect. Now we need to advertise.!"

River did another happy jump and spun around, her arms outstretched. "I hope people wil want to join us."

"Jack said he'd join. And I know plenty of people to ask." River practised some tango steps around the table.

River stopped and turned serious again. "We should. When you can hold a pen."

River got the message. She left again and returned with pens and papers. "I'm prepared to be told what to do," she stated.
