fifth floor common room, Saturday early afternoon

Nadia was making breakfast.

Well, sort of. Nadia was currently leaning on the counter, staring vaguely at the ingredients with which one might make breakfast, and wondering if she can make it through an entire session with a frying pan and other implements of burnination without falling asleep and potentially getting herself killed.

After a few moments, Nadia was making cereal.

If she drowned in a bowl of milk? Well. Cest la vie.

"Hey, Nadia. What's up?" Annette said, walking in and checking things out.

She looked from the kitchen counter to the bowl of cereal she was making. "Decided against cooking?"

"I...can try to cook?" She said, raising a brow and looking again at the breakfast stuff. "It might be fun." Annette poked a package of bacon.

Well, technically? No. But she would try - could just be a learning experience.

"Can't be that hard, right? Okay, let's see here..." She took the frying pan and put it on the stove and turned it on high. Then she washed her hands and began to unwrap the bacon.

"Did you have a good time last night at the slumber part?"

Walter wandered in and put the kettle on before trying to figure out what Nadia was doing.

Then gave up.

"What are you doing?"

She started lifting pieces of bacon and laying them into the pan. "What happened, he didn't feel like a pillow fight?" The bacon started sizzling right away and Annette frowned as it began to pop too much. She turned the temp on the pan down.

Opening a drawer, she grabbed a fork and started moving the bacon around a little, wondering if she was supposed to turn it over.

Glancing at Nadia, she asked her, "You mean cause he's afraid he might accidentally hurt someone?"

"Wouldn't that usually mean - oh, just a guess here - cooking it?"

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2007-02-10 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, he could. He's huge and intimidating just as he is. Have you suggested this to him?"

Annette pushed the bacon around in the pan. "I don't get it - it's like half the size it was." She got a plate and spread a paper towel over it, ready to take the bacon up in probably another minute.

Walter stopped smirking and nodded. "A good point." He pulled a frying pan out of the cabinet and got eggs from the fridge "What can I make you?"

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2007-02-10 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, I'm making myself something better than that." He started cracking eggs into a bowl and glanced up at her. "Are you sure you don't want something?"

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2007-02-10 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Thinking the bacon looked pretty good, nice and crispy and pretty even in color, Annette lifted the strips and laid them on the plate. "What is parkour, Nadia?" After she took them all up, she added the rest of the strips from the package.

"Now, eggs? Hmm." How the heck do you cook eggs? She took another frying pan and put it on the stove, setting the temp to medium just to be on the safe side.

"Of course." Walter added more eggs to the bowl before beating them. "Why don't you pick out what you want in it and you'll be contributing to your meal."
