2nd Floor Common Room: All Day

Suffering from the "Death Flu" from most of the week has made Marty a little stir crazy. Enough that when his temperature finally dropped and he could walk without having to lean against the wall for support, he made his way down to the common room with a care package from Camilla.

The care package itself contained multiple pairs of wools socks, A Bitterwoman DVD collection, a very small wok and a brochure for an exercise bike.

Damn that was one weird chicken.

So anyone wandering into the lounge at this particular time would no doubt find Marty under a knitted wool blacket with a wool sweater and socks watching Bitterwoman and a wok on his head.

Nadia spotted Marty in the common room and decided to stop in. "Nice hat."

"It's a new look I'm going for. I'm calling it psycho ward," Marty replied. "How's my favorite narcoleptic doing today?"

Nadia shrugged one shoulder. She was looking a bit enviously at his wool sweater and blanket. "I'm okay. And we don't know if that's what it is, yet. I'm going to a clinic tomorrow to find out."

"Okay. Well that's both good and bad, I guess," Marty said looking slightly concerned. "Any cracked out theories on what's causing it or is it just 'We have no frickin' clue'?"

Nadia pulled the amulet Walter gave her out from under her shirt. She was making sure to wear it, now, since she hadn't been last night. "This thing is supposed to protect me from evil spells . . . and we know it works because Walter's used it. And it hasn't stopped whatever it is from happening. So, um, 'no frickin' clue'."

"Huh. Who do you have working on this? Maybe Phale can shed some light on the subject," Marty suggested as he dug around and pulled out a pair of pink wool socks. "You want these socks? Not really my color."

"I've mostly been talking to Aziraphale and Dr. Wilson. Even let Aziraphale possess me so we could figure out the whole dreams thing." Come to think of it, that had happened shortly before all this started, hadn't it. "Dr. Wilson is the one who recommended trying the sleep clinic. For all I know, I'm just . . . sick or something."

"Anything I can do?" Marty asked. "Of course I'm not a doctor and I don't even play one on TV but if you need help or anything..."

Nadia shook her head with a small smile. "I don't think so, but thanks. You know you don't have to worry about me. I can take care of this."

"Right. Sure you can," Marty said with a little eyeroll. "Just let me know when you need me to bail you out."

Later that afternoon, Angela roamed in and tweaked the hat slightly. "Are you feeling any better?"

"Gosh," Nadia said dryly. "You're the best big brother, ever."

"Yes. Enough that being in my room for a week made me crave human contact," Marty replied as he pulled out a pair of red wool mittens. "I think Camilla made these for you. They don't fit my hands."

Angela took the mittens and pulled them on. "Perfect," she said admiringly. "That is one skilled chicken you gave up."

"Yeah, she's pretty special," Marty snickered. "So what have you been up to as I've been doing the sleep of the dead?"

"Damn straight," Marty replied and then looked around to make sure no one was watching before saying in a serious tone. "Really. If you need anything don't be a stranger."

"I know. And I won't. But the same goes for you, you know."

"Classes. Work. Nothing special," Angela said. "I'm very very boring."

"Not to me you're not," Marty said holding out his hand. "Missed seeing you around this week."

"I checked on you!" Angela protested, taking his hand. "You were just always asleep."

"You know what I mean," Marty said as he squeezed her hand. "I felt like a slug. I even missed Valentine's day."

Angela held up her wrist. "You sent me this," she said. "And it's gorgeous."

She leaned in to kiss his forehead. "We could do our valentine's day next week, if you want."

"I'd like that," Marty said snuggling up to Angela. "Especially when I'm virus free."

"You're much more fun when you aren't spewing snot everywhere," Angela said elegantly.

"I didn't spew," Marty protested. "Did I? Okay maybe a little but that was at the height of my delirium."

Billy walked past the common room, then backed up to take another look. Yep, that was definately a wok on his head.

"Uhm..." Billy said. "I beg your pardon, but did you just see a Dragon wall by?" He was rather at a loss for words, so he just sort of stared in wonder.

"Only a little," Angela assented reluctantly. "I think I missed the delirium. Did you hallucinate anything fun?"

"Just about squirrels in little press hats. Or did they just show up in my room during the week to hide out from people who they tattled about on the radio?"

"I know," Marty replied. "Not that I'd ever admit needing your help."

"Which just makes you the best role model ever, huh."

Angela giggled. "I don't think so," she said. "Though there were, you know, a lot of acorns in your room."

"Ha! I knew it," Marty said with a laugh. "Now I'll need to keep extra acorns around and swear an oath to protect them from embarrassed teenagers everywhere."
