Fourth Floor Common Room; Thursday Evening.

There was a sofa. On that sofa was a small Asian girl. There was also a TV. On that TV was nothing worth watching. Which might explain the small curses in Japanese coming from the small Asian girl on the sofa about the TV with nothing worth watching.

Not a single bad kung-fu movie to be found. Not one. It saddened Setsuna greatly.

Mac wandered in, raising an eyebrow at Setsuna who appeared to be talking to herself, and collected some rice milk and filling up a glass.

"Problem?" she asked, shoving the carton back into the fridge.

Setsuna smiled a little bashfully. She always wondered what it sounded like to other people to hear her talking like that in Japanese. "Feeling a little restless," she said. "Television is not helping."

Billy heard Japanese cursing and came to see what was up. "What's wrong?" he asked.

"American television."

"Rarely does," Mac commented making her way over. "Whatcha watching, anyway?"

"Nothing, really," Setsuna responded, flipping from an SUV commercial to some show taking place in a hospital. "I was hoping for a kung-fu dub, but they don't usually play those until later anyway..."

"Why settle for that I'd think you'd be able to get all sorts of channels in an island like this. I've found stations from New Zealand on here."

"Really?" Setsuna tilted her head at him a bit, shrugging before handing the remote over to him. "Godspeed. I'm having no luck."

"This is why I don't watch TV," Mac said as she flopped carefully onto a sofa. "There's never anything you want to watch, when you want to watch something most. It's so frustrating."

Head tilting slightly in agreement, Setsuna decided for now, the next button on the remote she'd push would be the off button. "Meh. I'll try again later. Conversation is much more interesting that television anyway." Setting the remote aside or for someone else to take up, she turned toward Mac a little. "So, how've you been?"

Mac shrugged. "I'm not too bad," she said. "This week seems to be sucking more for everyone else. So most of my emo is aquired via osmosis."

"Anything in particular you were looking for?" he asked, taking the remote.

"Can it be obtained that way?" Setsuna said, the grin on her fact indictative of her joking.

"Kung-fu dubs," Setsuna said. "Usually they don't play until later, though."

"I think, maybe a little," Mac said, with a little smile back. "If you're around it enough, anyway."

Setsuna nodded. "I'm glad I haven't been around it much, then. The worst I've had to deal with this week is being stuck as a bird for a while and someone thinking I was actually my roommate..."

That last part still made her boggle a little.

Mac blinked. While she remembered Cally telling her about Setsuna being a bird once before, she didn't think it was necessarily a regular occurence.

"Is... your roommate generally a bird?" she asked in the end.

"Not that I was aware of, but now I've been wondering. There was something mentioned about a monkey and a different animal as well." Setsuna paused a moment. "I can only conclude that my roommate is actually a shapeshifter. Haven't gotten a chance to ask him yet."

"You sure the monkey isn't Pippi's?" Mac said. "I'm pretty sure she has one." She shrugged, "Although around here, shapeshifter is a perfectly reasonable explanation so... Yeah, maybe you should ask him sometime."

Mac nodded in confirmation. "Think so," she said. "He's one of those pretty memorable pets."

Billy giggled at a sudden thought. "If we had another slightly martial arts centric person in here we could make one up for ya."

Setsuna's head tilted. "Make...our own kung fu movie?"

She did have that camcorder from her documentaries class this summer...

"I'll bet," Setsuna chuckled. "But I still doubt anyone will beat my teacher back home. Talking ermine." She nodded.

Chamo-kun could totally be considered a pet....

"Wow." Mac nodded. Yeah, that was definitely impressive. "I think that might even beat Alanna's talking cat... maybe."
