Neil wasn't entirely certain what the paws gesture meant and what came immediately to mind was that the mouse was asking for some of his breakfast, which wasn't quite ready yet. However, there was a piece of toast with some jam on it so Neil broke off a piece and held it out towards the mouse.

The pointing paw and curious head tilt was a little easier to interpret and Neil offered his name along with the little bite of toast.

"Neil. I'm a junior, transfered in at Spring semester."
