Second floor common room, Thursday afternoon

This was not the sort of chaos that Steerpike had been expecting the rain to bring.

She was currently sulking in the common room, since curiosity to see what havok this odd change would wreak had over come any desire for solitude.

At least, she thought, she had turned into a pretty girl.

Blair wandered into the common room and looked at Steerpike for a moment. "Are you really a girl or a guy who's a girl right now?"

After he asked that he realized that if Steerpike really was a girl, that probably wasn't the nicest question to ask.

"I'm Steerpike," Steerpike said, as though this ought to explain everything. "You?"

Buffy was bored, so she went looking for people to be bored with. "Hi guys!"

"Blair." Blair said with a bounce. "So whatever this is hit you too, huh?"

Blair's question seemed like a pertinant one, and Steerpike didn't much care about offending people.

"Did you wake up this morning to suddenly discover you were the wrong sex?"

She did rephrase it, at least.

"Hey Buffy." Blair bounced. "I'm a girl!"

"So it would seem. You seem unsurprised."

"No?" Buffy said, baffled. "Should I have? Is this a test?"

Dick came in wearing the schoolgirl outfit he borrowed from Annette. He sat down on the couch, remembering to cross his/her legs.

"Afternoon ladies." he said, grinning.

"I can see that!" Buffy bounced back a little, then stopped. "Um. Who are you?"

"Not at all, merely a check. It seems as though myself and a few of my classmates have suddenly turned into girls."

Steerpike recognized the outfit. "You are not Annette."

"Oh, I was plenty surprised this morning." Blair shrugged. "But then I figured it would be a cool experience. Can you imagine the kind of paper I can write?"

"Besides...it's Fandom. Somebody is always turning into something around here. I'm surprised the administration doesn't insert identification chips under our skin so they'll know who we are no matter what we've morphed into that day."

"It's me, Blair." She tugged on a curl. "Woke up this morning as a girl."

"No, I'm Dick." he said. "Annette let me borrow this since when I woke up this morning my clothes were falling off me."

"I think I do the schoolgirl look justice." he said, checking himself out. "I'm hot."

"Girl or Mangirl?" Blair asked from where she was sitting with a notebook.

"Don't give them any ideas. Paper? You mean to study the phenomenon?"

"Mangirl. Dick to be exact." she said. "I should really get a girls name. Dick just doesn't sound right with my uh, assets."

"You are fairly attractive, yes."

"Hey Buffy!" greeted Dick from her spot on the couch.

"I'm Blair." Blair grinned. "Thanks to my hippie mom, I was prepared for gender confusing times at Fandom."

"You could call yourself another part of your anatomy, you know...to keep with the theme and all."

Buffy blinked. She blinked a lot. "...Huh?"

"Okay," Buffy said slowly. "That's kinda weird."

"Good point. Can't let the man track us." Blair nodded and then held up his notebook. "Of course, man! I'm getting to experience life from a female perspective. Seeing both sides. I'm sure a sociology journal would publish it."
