Hallways - Thursday night

Annette was walking up and down the dorm hallways carrying a large silver tray of cupcakes. Well no, she was marching sort of. Her contingent of weetiny penguins were following her, marching along. Between every two, they carried a cupcake, and they handed them to anyone who bent over to ask them nicely for one. If one did not ask nicely, there was, uh, no telling where that cupcake might end.

"One, two, three, four, keep up fella's. We've got a lot of cupcakes to give away!"

Much weetiny squee'ing commenced and the pitter-patter of wobbly penguin feet.

Tori just couldn't believe the sight before her. The weetiny penguins were adorable but holding cupcakes? That just made them ten times cuter.

The weetiny penguin she held in her arms squeed. Tori laughed, wondering what Fandom would come up with next time around.

Turtle heard a magic word and stuck her head out of her door. "Cupcakes?"

And more of those darn penguins, too.

"Hi, Tori!" Annette exclaimed, seeing her friend. Then she motioned to her little group of buddies behind her. "They would like to give you something, if you'll let them."

"Ohh, hey Turtle!" Do not mention the gingersnaps, please! "Come get a cupcake! The little guys here would love to give you one!"

Annette looked down at two in particular and motioned them forward with a jilt of her chin.

"Hey Annette." Tori grinned brightly, waving to her friend. "Oh, of course." She just couldn't get over the weetiny penguins.

Turtle stared a little bug-eyed at the two she'd motioned to. "Do I gotta take them from the penguins? Can't I just...get one?"

"Aren't they cute? I see you've got your own there. You'll have to take two cupcakes then." She grinned brightly.

Annette gave turtle a look. "The penguins are clean and shhh, you might hurt their feelings. Just slowly bend down and let them hand it to you." Hee hee hee "Say thank you, too." She whispered.

Dick poked his head out of his room. "Hey birthday chick! With cupcakes!"

"They are just adorable." Tori giggled. She'd need to take pictures of the little penguins, just in case they disappeared. "Oh, two cupcakes. Thank you." Tori smiled, gratefully.

The weetiny penguin in her arms squeed happily.

"Now, all you have to do is bend over and graciously accept them." Her contingent of weetiny penguins have been a little...obsessive in their...uniform and...defense...since watching that movie in Ares' class this morning.

Turtle's eyes narrowed. "I had to deal with these things all day at work. Do you know how hard it is to do projection reports with penguins trying to wobble all over your desk?"

She paused, figuring that she probably didn't, and sighed. And bent over, holding out her hand for the penguins to give her a cupcake. Because having a cupcake was more important than personal prejudices.

"Yo, Dick. Want one?" Annette grinned as her little army of weetiny penguins marched to a halt at her heels.

Tori laughed and nodded, bending down to be at a more even height with the weeting penguins.

"Cupcakes and weetiny penguins? I don't know how much more cuteness I can take." Tori admitted, with a grin.

"Sadly, I know what you mean." Not really. "I had to deal with them while I watched a shirtlessness movie in Ares' class this morning. Very distracting they were." Annette nodded.

The two little penguins wobbled forward but halted when the giant girl held out her hand, they both looked up at Annette.

"Turtle, you have to say the magic word." She whispered.

"Yeah but hold on a second. I got you something." he said, slipping back into his room. He came back holding a plushie (http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/plush/6708/images/1189/). Beaver had showed him the site and the mun he couldn't resist. Now she could tell people that he gave her syphilis for her birthday! Well, he thought it was funny.

"Cute is cute. But cute can be very cute. And I am loving this cute. I think I might try to keep one." If that was even remotely possible.

Two of the little guys carrying a creamy white whipped cupcake, wobbled forward, but as they neared Tori, they looked up at Annette.

"You have to say the magic word, Tori." Annette giggled on a whisper.

Turtle rolled her eyes. This cupcake better be worth it.

"Abracadabra," she said, sticking out her tongue a bit.

"I want to keep one so badly." Tori admitted, with a smirk. "I wonder if it's possible." Probably not, but she was all for being optimistic.

She watched the two little penguins wobble towards her and it was just too CUTE. "Magic word, huh?" Tori pretended to think about it for a moment. "Please? And thank you? How about... you guys are just about the cutest penguins I have ever seen? That's got to be it."

She smiled and tilted her head, watching him. When she saw the little plushie she laughed, knowing what he was thinking. "You are too cute for words. Thank you. But do not expect me to tell anyone what you are thinking." She giggled and shook her head.

"Stick it in my back pocket for me please? My hands are currently full."

Oh. My. Gosh. Not the right word, nor was the tongue thing a very good idea.

The weetiny penguins looked back to Annette and so very subtly did Annette acknowledge them with just a slight nod of her head.

Looking back at the giant girl, they pulled back with their little fat wings and sent the cupcake flying for her face.

Uh-oh. This could end very badly.

"Oh you have to tell someone! Cally will think it's funny." he said. He put the plushie in her back pocket, with the little smiley face of it facing forward. He might have taken a little longer than necessary.

"How did you get the penguins to work for you? One of the ones in my room tried to break my lamp. He was a penguin rebel without a cause."

"It won't hurt to try." Annette giggled. "Oooh, we could pack them away with us tomorrow!" Hee Hee

Ohhh Tori just rocked their little world. They squee'ed and hopped and handed over the cupcake they were holding especially for her. Then they hopped up and down and looked up to Annette. Carefully holding the tray, she gave them another one for the next person to come along.

"Take one here from my tray, Tori, for your little buddy there."

At which point Turtle had a cupcake on her face.

She blinked for a moment, and caught it as it slid off her nose, into her waiting hand, and blinked again. She straightened, and promptly took a bite out of the cupcake.

"Ha!" she said, mouth still full of cupcakey goodness. "I still win."

And, yes, she gave one of those weetiny penguins a good, swift boot in the stomach. Not a hard one; she wasn't that cruel. But enough to send him flying a little.

"I'll tell Cally cause you're right, she'll love this one." She grinned.

"It was easy - they came with me to Ares' class today." Her smile this time was sneaky and well-pleased. "They think their my little protectors. Be careful when you bend down to get a cupcake from them."

Oh, and she just remembered! "Thanks for singing to me. That was sweet."
