Deciding that he needed to hang out somewhere other than his room for a change, Dean was ensconced on the couch with Alec, with milkshakes and a big bowl of popcorn they were sharing, ready to watch Spooky Things which was just starting.

There were worse ways to spend an evening.

Even if the episode was a repeat.

"At least it's a good episode," Alec said, grabbing a handful of popcorn.

"True," Dean agreed, grabbing some popcorn himsel, his hand brushing against Alec's as he did so.

Alec nudged Dean's shoulder and jerked his chin towards the TV. "So how does this show stack up against a real hunting lifestyle?"

Dean considered before answering. "It's a little over the top with the angst factor sometimes and they get a lot of the details of how to deal with things wrong, but for a tv show it's not bad."

Dawn still had too much energy to just sit in her room and was prowling the dorms. She heard the television on in the common room and poked her head in to see who was there, then immediately considered heading back down a floor when she spotted Dean and Alec.

"Which episode is this?" She asked, deciding to brazen it out, plopping down on the floor.

"Huh. Well, I like the car and the guns," Alec said, giving his opinion, wanted or no. "The effects are kind of cheesy, though."

"Yeah. But television budgets, what are you going to do?" He paused. "I do like how the brothers stick together."

"The one with the demonic virus," Dean supplied, smiling at her in greeting. "Not hanging with Sammy tonight?"

"The one with the plague," Alec said, grinning at Dawn.

"Oooh, I like that one, except for the end, which made me throw things," Dawn remarked, reaching over and taking a handful of popcorn, "and, um, not right this second, no." Dean and Alec might have noticed a blush starting when Dean mentioned Sam's name, though.

"The older brother makes me all mushy in this one," Dawn said, grinning back at Alec.

"I could do without the long conversations about their feelings though," Alec noted. "Not enough spooky things, for all that it's the title of the show."

"So you and Sammy have made up, huh?" Dean almost managed to pull off the innocent tone he was trying for.

"You just want to watch some gory horror flick," Dean teased.

Dawn buried her head in her hands and groaned. "I knew I should have just walked back out."

"He's pretty selfless," Alec said, shrugging a little. "Giving everything up like that. I mean, even the car."

"So?" Alec grinned. "They're funny, watching people run around like idiots waiting to get picked off by the serial killer or whatever."

"I like the ones better where they're not idiots," Dean admitted. "And where they figure out how to stop whatever it is that's after them."

"Hey, it's all good," Dean assured her. "Really. I'm happy for both of you."

"Yeah, but I don't know how realistic it is--I mean, how many brothers are really going to do that?"

She beamed at him. "Me too. God, I'm such a dork. I just feel...light."

Alec pursed his lips, glancing at Dean. "Just the good ones, I guess."

Dawn followed Alec's glance, "Yeah, point there. Think we could clone him?"

Alec snickered. "If that were anything like reality, you guys would be out of a job though," he pointed out.

"Wouldn't work," Alec said, abruptly solemn. "Even clones don't come out the same every time."
