The Salle; Thursday Afternoon.

Warming up a little as she waited for John, Setsuna started to wondering exactly how this might work. It sounded like a really good idea at the time she came up with it, but going over the technicalities had her doubting whether this would be effective for not.

Well, only one way to find out, really. She still had a creeping feeling that, no matter what she try to teach him, John was still going to end up as demon fodder.

John was there in workout clothes, ready to kick Setsuna's biker-shorts-clad narrow ass with his leet sword skills.

Yeah, that was going to happen in about three days from, oh, never.

Setsuna nodded to John as he came in and then cocked her head toward the bench, where Diasuke her katana and Eleanor her Western sword were sitting on the bench in front of the weapon's locker. She was already armed with Yuunagi. "Choose your poison," she told him, curious as to which he'd chose, "unless you have your own steel?" She tried to think if she could recall ever seeing John with anything other than a practise sword in the gym.

John looked at her.

And then got a very wicked grin.

He bowed and left the room.

For a good 20 minutes.

You'd think he'd forgotten her.

Until he returned with a length of chain wrapped around a shoulder and his Alien Stabbity Steel Rod, with the smashy end and the pokey end and ew, there's still dried alien guts on it.

He didn't say anything, just let his not-quite-normal grin speak volumes.

And Setsuna, face in palm, wondered why she ever though this would be a good idea.

She sighed. Heavily. "John, I'm not teaching you these techniques unless you choose a proper weapon. I suggest the katana, because the broadsword would be a bit unweilding for what I'm going to be teaching..."

"Oh." His face dropped. He put his Alien Trophy down and picked up both swords, getting a feel for each, before putting down teh Western style sword for the katana.

"...Are you ready to take this seriously, now?" Setsuna asked, still a little annoyed at him wasting her time like that. "Because this is serious stuff, John..."

"I am. And that was serious. If you've got a sword, I want something that's as quick but with a longer reach." He tests the katana out more, finding the balance.

Teddy Arrived at the end of the fight, standing back and just watching the beauty of motion that Setsuna was. Why hadn't he noticed her before? The thought of those legs wrapped around his waist...

Setsuna gave her nodachi a look; he did have a point with the whole thing about reach, although, really, the pole and her longsword were about even. "Well," she said, "a lot of them rely on an actual blade..."

"Right. Martian Pig Sticker's more of a lance, really. Not very swordy." He continues some kata with the sword, getting a feel for how it moves and limbering up.

Setsuna settled back in a finishing pose before straightening, wiping the sweat from her brow with the back of her hand and she nodded to John. "Good work," she said, and then the fact that someone else was here caught her eye. Probably a good thing; get distracted by someone else quickly so that John couldn't start putting together the fact that she'd told him to use these demon-only techniques on her and that some of them had actually worked. "More next time?" she asked John, sheathing Yuunagi and excusing herself as she went to go talk to the other visitor.

"Teddy," she nodded to him, and let out a little breath from her exhaustion. John was a total asshole, but he could put up a good fight. "Never really expected to see you down here..."

Setsuna watched his kata closely, trying to guage the level of experience with Eastern styles. "Before we start," she said, "how familiar are you with the concept of chi?"

She looked good out of breath. Teddy gave her a slow smile, leaning a bit toward her. "I was looking for you, actually."

"I've heard of it. Way to focus the energies of a person, facilitate healing inside a person, project attacks outside the person. I've done meditation, exercises, but never had anthing noticable happen to me. Not sure if it's real and I can't do it or if it's just kung-fu bunk."

There was a soft bit of a smile, and a shrug. "That would explain why you're here then. Definately the place to usually find me. What's up?" Her head tilted as she looked at Teddy. "Nothing's wrong, is it?" He was smiling, so she didn't suspect anything was.

"Not anymore," He replied. Taking a step closer, working his way into her personal space. "I was wondering if you could help me with my flying."

Setsuna nodded a little. "It isn't just kung-fu bunk," she assured him. "In fact, it's crucial for these techniques. A lot of demons, I dare even venture that most of them, cannot actually be harmed with just weapons. You need something extra, like magic or, in this case since I'm not very magical and I don't believe you are, either, the manifestation of chi to cause an energy attack...."

She paused and studied John's face. "Am I making sense so far?"

Setsuna was rather fond of her personal space, and considered taking a step back to cancel out Teddy's step forward, but she didn't want to seem rude or that she was thinking he was acting a little odd. She was just tired from the workout, was all. "What do you need help with?" she asked. "I mean...it's just something that sort of comes natural, isn't it?" That's how it always was with her.

"Yeah," He said quickly. "Just some practice maybe. Not many people I can fly with around here." He smiled nicely at her, tilting his head as if to let her know he was utterly harmless.

Setsuna nodded. "Yeah, sure." There was another expelled breath for all the work she'd been doing; she wiped a bit more sweat off her brow. "Just let me rest up a little bit, but I shouldn't need to recouperate too much; flying uses a completely different set of muscles, so I should be good."

"Not a problem," Teddy replied, taking off his shirt. Didn't want to ruin it with his wings.

Right.

Because, yeah, there was so totally room for flying in the salle. There was a reason she had to do all her flight battle excersizes in the gym instead.

Setsuna stared a little. "Um, Teddy? What...are you doing?"

"Making sure I won't ruin my shirt when we start," He said, folding the shirt nicely and tucking it under his arm. There might have been a small flex of his muscles there, but that could also just have been him getting ready to shift.

Setsuna was absolutely not staring at Teddy's muscles. At all. She would never do something so base as openly ogling someone.

Except for the part that she was. But she promptly shook her head to stop herself once she realized she was doing it, cheeks faintly pink. Of all the absurd...

"Teddy, there isn't enough room to fly in here. We'd have to go to the roof, or at least the gym..."

Teddy smirked to himself at the ogling. "I know, I just don't want to forget to take this off. I've lost so many shirts doing that already."

He stretched his hands over his head. Flex. Flex.
