First floor rec room - Wednesday afternoon

Dean carried in the bags of decorations he'd bought and set them down in the middle of the room. He was almost approaching this like a hunt and already had a mental plan for where things were going to go. It might be going slightly overboard, but hell, not like he'd ever really had the chance to do this for Sammy before so he figured overboard wasn't a bad thing.

Tori showed up, ready to help out with whatever needed to be done. "Hey Dean."

"I have lots of glitter left," Buffy told Dean helpfully after a quick look around.

"Hey," Dean said, looking up at her with a grin as he slowly unpacked the bags.

"Not sure exactly how much of a glitter kinda guy Sammy is," Dean said. "Though you could save it for next week; Alec's birthday is Monday and he's definitely the glitter type."

Buffy brightened. "That's true! I didn't know that," she added. "I definitely have to save the glitter for then. And buy presents. He'd like presents, don't you think?"

Dawn showed up, looking a little tired and in no way dressed for the party yet, but with her arms full of streamers and unblown up balloons. She figured that Sam would kill her if she inflicted party hats on him, and, well, she was feeling pretty charitable at him.

"Do we have tape?" She asked, unwinding some streamers from the roll, "I would have gotten some, but there was an emergency and I forgot."

Dean grinned. "He'll love presents."

"Yeah, should be over in that bag," Dean said nodding in the right direction. He frowned a little looking at her, not missing the tiredness. "What kind of emergency?"

"And Sam too, right? 'cause I already bought some for him, so he's really getting them no matter what." Buffy grinned back.

"Hey Dawn." Buffy waved. "I'm ready to blow things if you need me!" Pause. "Er. Blow up. Balloons. Oh just give me some alright?"

"Ice cream emergency," Dawn told him, searching the bag for the tape, "Ah hah! Ray left yesterday, so Katara and I kidnapped Molly."

"Hi Tori!" Buffy beamed happily at her.

"Sammy too," Dean agreed. He paused, then asked curiously, "What did you get him?"

"Ah," Dean said, nodding. "She okay?"

Dawn tossed the bag of balloons to Buffy, thinking that it was almost too bad it wasn't a few years from now--her sister had plenty of hot air to fill the bags. "Hey, thanks for helping."

"Not completely, but she's getting there, I hope."

"Good. If there's anything I can do to help, let me know." He paused and said kinda leadingly. "I thought the emergency might have to do with your mysterious dimensionally stuff last night."

"Oh. Um." Dawn became very preoccupied in finding the end of the tape.

This didn't exactly reassure Dean. He stopped what he was doing and walked over to her. "Okay, spill."

"That's a secret," Buffy said reproachfully.

"No problem," Buffy smiled, grabbing the bag. "How're you doing?"

Dawn responded pretty easily to the tone of older sibling in Dean's voice. "Isabel, Door, Rikku and I rescued Rikku's friend from another dimension yesterday. Door used me as a boost to power the portal-door-thing, and I almost got sucked in."

She started folding two different colors of streamers over each other accordion-style, not meeting his eyes. "Sam saved me."

"I'm all big again," Dawn grinned, "as you could probably guess."
